THE OLD GRAIN STORE, Bairnsdale

Quite a large restaurant. We found it a bit noisy. Our Heathcote wine was great. Moroccon chicken was tssty but a little dry. The lamb dish was excellent. All in all a nice evening

Slow service

Ok we where there for dinner with the family. Found the staff friendly but the service quite slow. Meals where avarage at best and slow to come out took over an hour for our meals to come out. Notices that takeaways where leaving the kitchen...faster than then our meals hitting our table. So after leaving the restaurant found out that we where charged double on some drinks as staff did not mark of drink that where played for. Will not be backMore

COULD BE BETTER

Meals were ok, it depends on how busy they are whether the food is up to par or not. Might try it again in a few months time. Lots of people dining the night we went and very noisy. Not sure if the waiting staff...have had any training but you don’t lean over the end of a table and try and serve people. Totally inappropriate.More

Best Rib Eye ever

Love this place. , service is really looking after you , the steak was so tender , the green peepers souce a delight, all up very happy, highly recommend this place

Ploughmans Pleasure

Hubby & I have been here many many times but today was one out of the box. Got a Ploughmans Platter for two and it was exceptional. Cheese, toast, biscuits, fresh fruit, olives, antipasto, beetroot dip, pesto dip, pickled onions, sundried tomatoes, ham, chorizo &...salmon. Wow, devine, feast.More

Great community mind

Given the perils the coronavirus is having on the hospitality industry, the old grain store went above and beyond. About a 3rd of our group got paged to respond to a house fire while waiting for our meals. Not only were staff happy to take...the meals back to keep warm in the kitchen, they came back out to inform us they were recooking the meals free of charge because of the work fireries have done in the community. They would not take no for an answer. Everyone got back from the station before the grain store had a chance to start cooking so they offered to do the meals 1/2 price instead. And in the midst of writing this the manager came over and gave them all drinks on the house.More

Great wood log feature wall

3 had a tasty lunch. Could see the fresh clean kitchen. Staff were all on the go keeping everyone happy. Prices not over the top we will be going back.

Great restaurant!

Beautiful food , wonderful service! Waitress Indi was very attentive, would certainly recommend! Decor is very nice but can be a bit noisy, would be a great place for a small party or family get together, best restaurant in town!

Would not wish it upon my worst enemy

What a terribly unpleasant experience here at what could be a nice venue. The building and decor are nice however that’s the only positives as the food and organisation is really sub standard

Great meal and service

We were out for dinner a group of 4 everyone was pleasantly surprised with the food and service, our meals were very interesting and plentiful as were the entree’s, we will definitely be back soon
