After many years and under a change of ownership we returned to Novaro's for a delightful dinner for our anniversary. Although a little pricey it is quality throughout and staff were professional and attentive. We enjoyed a small handcrafted soup as an amuse bouche. For entree we had scallop and crayfish ravioli although the flavour was light. The gnocchi was much better. The market fish was light and delicious and the wine list extensive. Surprisingly we did not have room for dessert. Well worth visiting for a special occasion.

What a delightful restaurant in the CBD Launceston and residing in an old Heritage style building. The new owners, a young couple, were friendly and enthusiastic to make sure that we had a thoroughly memorable and delightful experience. They succeeded, so well done. Service was impeccable and the meals were absolutely delicious. The Oysters, Duck, Lamb rump are all recommended. The restaurant is on the high $ side, however you get what you pay for....a truly wonderful and unforgettable experience.

Have wanted to try Novaro's for quite a long time and am sorry I waited so long for the experience. Put simply, everything about the evening was first class - staff, service and food. Prices are not cheap, the menu is quite small, but this is fine dining and everything our group of four tried was excellent and it deserves it's #1 rating.

What a start to our holiday in Tasmania. The nice, little restaurant served what was the best oysters I Down Under followed by an excellent fish dish and desert all enjoyed with some most delightful Tassie wino. If you in Launnie - this is a must stop dinner place, you won't regret it!

This restaurant was overrated and overpriced. Kingfish was overcooked on a bed of undercooked beans. Duck was dry and vegan risotto option inedible at $40 a plate. Bread and wine ok. Service was good.

We had a great dinner with amazing food and service. Highlights were the crayfish pasta entree and the kingfish which we had for the main. Great flavours throughout and the staff were really attentive without being overbearing. A beautiful dining room and a diverse range of wines and other drinks available.

Wow oh wow, dined here last night with my husband and absolutely loved everything. The food was beyond delicious, the service was a complete class act and the atmosphere was perfect. We had the lamb, seafood pasta, oysters (which were plump and flavoursome and I will in future compare other oysters I eat to these melt in your mouth beauties) We could not recommend Novaro’s more and cannot wait to return. Such a big Thankyou to the two lovely, happy ladies who served us so well.

The decor and service are charming. The food is delicious. The wine selection is a little limited and quite pricey. We enjoyed the limoncello cured salmon and carpaccio for entrees, followed by beef ragu and slow cooked pork fettucine for mains. We had just enough room to share a tiramasu which was sensational. It is on the pricier side and well worth it if it's in your budget. A great night out.

Outstanding service; our waiter was very well spoken and experienced in her position, The food was amazing and of very high standard, couldn't be happier, well worth the money. Our group had travelled down from New South Wales or a holiday and stayed the night in Launceston at the Grand Chancellor, this restaurant was in close proximity located only a very short walk, literally behind the hotel. I myself come from a fine dining background and found this place to be faultless, defiantly worth the experience. Thanks again guys.

This little gem is up there in the top two restaurants in Launceston. It has a very personal feel and yet the quality of the food and service is just as you would expect from top end establishments serving modern Australian cuisine. Superb dishes, entree’s, mains and deserts. I have to call out the Affogato was the very best I have had - ever. It was the homemade biscotti that tipped it into top spot. You just have to come and experience this dining and service. Good wine list too but don’t be surprised that this will cost you if you like good wine. Loved it!!

Gordon Ramsay needed Urgently What a disappointment, fantastic time in Launceston until tonight. Very polite and friendly ladies out front , but in very weird looking matching shirts ( not regular hospitality uniform) possibly a warning sign. 6.30 seating but when ordering oysters didn’t have 2 dozen only a dozen and another half dozen! Ok with that until they arrive. No liquid in the shell , i complained and was told they were fresh that day . A silly non truth unless they only ordered 1 and half dozen as we were first customers for the day , but as i had a visitor guest i didn’t make too much fuss . They were disgusting. Then the gnocchi, no flavour , only water, not a reduction in the bowl . I had already complained about oysters so shut up . Our Bill was $400 . $72 for oysters which was actually for the original 2 dozen they didn’t have. After further complaint they took them off the bill . Still expensive and absolutely terrible. Francos by comparison is Fantastic If no italians in the restaurant do not expect italian food. I wasn’t even reasonable, it was horrible.

We have eaten a lot of great food in Tassie but Novaro raised the bar! The lobster and scallop raviolo was to die for and the wallaby cooked to perfection. The wine list is impressive and the service is second to none. Well done!

The title says it all. Food was exceptional! Bursting with flavour but not overly complicated, refined but every element carefully put together to create an amazing final result. Hats off to the owners who have an amazing restaurant with incredibly talented chefs. A special mention to Lucy, who as always was amazing! Perfect job all round, can't wait to be back.

Beautiful setting with art Deco chandeliers primed our excitement. Friendly, knowledgeable staff introduced fresh smoked salmon pate along with truffle ricotta tortellini on cauliflower mousse set the scene. Fish not wallowing in batter (apart from salmon & trout) is such a rare dish in Tasmania but tonight Kingfish fillets with curry leaves & eggplant changed our opinion- delightful!

How disappointing. I ordered smoked salmon pate which was flaked salmon fillet with very little flavour and not smoked. I then had pressed lamb which was difficult to cut as well as chew. This was not the fine dining experience I was expecting. Poor ingredients, lacking flavour and overpriced.
