On Sunday night at 7.30 we were lucky to get a table, they needed to re-set for us as someone had just left. Very happy with the food, service and prices. As we walked to our table I saw garlic prawns being served to another...guest and did not really need to look a the menu after that. Do order the garlic pizza starter, excellent. Their house wine is Italian and great value.More

Our first night in Launceston, late off our flight when we drove past this little gem. We popped in and was very much impressed. One had Veal Scallopini while my sister and I had the Rigatoni with garlic prawn, the pasta was cooked perfectly. So...we couldn’t finish with trying dessert, Cassata, Home made Tiramisu and Apple Pie...Yum!!!More

On our 2nd night in Launceston, we visited La Cantina by accident rather than design. My wife and I both had pizzas, and we agreed that they were the most “loaded” pizzas we had ever tried. Both pizzas were very tasty, with thin crusts, but...they were too much for us to finish in spite of our best efforts. On our first visit I had been debating whether to have pizza or the Veal Scallopini and so with absolute confidence we visited La Cantina again the evening before we left Launceston. I ordered Veal Scallopini, but then our helpful waitress protested that I still would not have tried their home-made pasta. At her suggestion, I had a “child’s serve” of Rigatoni as an entrée and Veal Scallopini for my main course. As expected, both were taste delights !! If you are looking for a Traditional Italian restaurant (complete with white tablecloths) with great food and friendly helpful service, then La Cantina is the place for you in Launceston !!More

Food was beautiful and arrived promptly despite being busy. The evening however was tainted by the waitress who appeared to be in charge micro managing and degrading the younger staff in front of customers. The young staff were friendly and doing a great job. Have...been a regular for many years but am now put off by the way this lady treated the younger staff members.More

We booked a table for an early dinner on New Year’s Eve and took our bottle of wine which was quickly put in the fridge as it had warmed up a little on our 20 minute walk from our hotel. We both had super tasty...and large pasta dishes and were very well looked after by the wonderful staff. Thank you.More

We shared a fabulous meal at this restaurant on a late Wednesday night after flying from Queensland into Tasmania. It was a great beginning of our adventure, the food was amazing, the service was wonderful and we can’t thank the staff enough for feeding us...even though it was very late. Thank you. If we get a chance to come back we definitely would. The home-made pasta was amazing. Yum Yum Yum.More

We had a lovely meal for 2 a short walk from our restaurant. The pasta was home made and the mussels were fresh. Lovely service from the owners and waitstaff. It is a homely rustic feel good for a hearty meal reasonable prices.

This is a 3 star restaurant, which is not meant to be a negative. Tasty Italian food at good prices. So 3 stars for me is quite acceptable. The staff were so hospitable that I lifted it to 4 stars.
