Classic family style Italian restaurant. Great atmosphere and service. Plenty of options for parents and kids. Really enjoyed it
We had a booking at 7.45 pm and when I booked we were told that we could have booked for as late as 8.30 but so glad we didn’t book that late. A few minutes after we were served our very ordinary meals the music...was turned off, cleaning of furniture was done and the outside door was locked. We felt very uncomfortable so paid and left and took the remainder of our bottle of wine with us. We had only been there for about 35 minutes. A very disappointing experience, we will never return to this restaurant.More
Asked for pizza without olives and jalapenos, received lots of jalapenos. My son's pizza tasted odd and he only ate a couple of pieces. There really shouldn't be a table near the toilets, you get a blast of cold air every time someone doesn't close...the door behind them. Waitress was apologetic and did take some off the bill, but the damage was done and I will never go back!!More
Italian in Launceston Rang late, made reservation Good staff, very responsive Meals were good Restaurant…nice white tableclothes, warm and music playing ❤️
$15 for a “salad for one” that consisted of what appeared to be a handful of Woolworths lettuce mix with literally 1 cherry tomato cut into quarters and 1 cube of feta cheese! Seriously. The pizza was ok but certainly not $28 worth.
Wow! Delicious, homemade Italian food. Lovely setting. Kind staff. Fast service. Definitely recommend a reservation.
We went to preload carbs before doing the Overland Track and loved it so much came back after 6 days of hiking to help recover.... We originally went on a recommendation from by Qld based brother who had gone there several times with his family...as a "cheap and cheerful" Italian...it was ....wonderful food, attentive service, catered for us as my partner is deaf in one ear....just what you expect from an Italian restaurant....🌺More
We arrived on a Sunday evening without a booking. They were chock a block and said they had no room. But if we came back in an hour they could fit us in. We went away for a drink and got a phone call 30...mins later saying they had a table. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was great and the service was superb. My wife if gluten intolerant and that was easily catered for. Overall very impressed.More
Busy place so recommend booking. Food was amazing and authentic. Certainly can’t complain about the portion size and I wasn’t disappointed with a scallop dish.
Was very nice pizza the service was excellent, very friendly and did not have to wait too long as promised.
The food was mediocre. We asked for a little bit of chilli flakes to put on our food and was told that we would be charged $2 for it. $2 is not much when you are spending $150 for 2 for dinner but really is...it worth charging $2. I don’t think so.More
The busy-ness of this restaurant is testimony enough. Good food, good winelist, good service, good prices, good decor. What more do you need? Not Claridge's but worthy 5star at this level. Well done !!
Very nice food. Good atmosphere. Felt a bit rushed by the owner. Even so, I would recommend a visit, just go early ! Pizza was good, wine reasonably priced and service was good.
We thought we’d give this place a go. Quite high prices but reviews of food looked positive, and we are always happy to pay for quality. We had seen that it was byo with $6 corkage per bottle, so we brought our own bottle of...red. When the waitress came to the table I said we had our own bottle, she said the corkage was $10 per bottle. I politely pointed out on the menu where it stated $6 corkage. The waitress said she’d need to check this with the chef as the price had recently increased. The waitress returned and said the chef said we had to pay $10, and she passed us another menu. We were really disappointed with the Chef’s poor customer service and lack of goodwill. It wasn’t about the money for us, it was the principle. We were not going to spend our money in a place where the chef clearly did not value the customers. We left the restaurant and went down the road to Osteria’s Italian. The service was excellent, food delicious and at least 25% cheaper! We now thank the Chef at La Cantina for allowing us to leave because of a $4 difference in corkage.More
