If you want good food, reliable takeaway delivery with the good service us people in Australia expect go here to eat in, ring here for deliveries & you get what you ordered. Forget menulog as it is so unreliable, these people at Steve’s Grill have their own delivery driver & get your meal delivered. Pizzas are the best in Launceston by far 👍

I reserved a table for two on Saturday night at 5.30 .Neither of us wanted a big meal and we were grateful to find a menu that included appealing entrees and desserts and a light meal selection. one of us selected a prawn cocktail followed by brandy snaps the other had rissoles with gravy date pudding. I explained that we had to leave by 6.45 to to the young waiter and he promise to make sure that we were able to do so, and he did. The food was simple but tasty and well presented and not to much. There is an extensive drinks list including beers, wines and spirits and a good kids menu. The eating area is large and quiet with tables to suit large and small parties. Note bookings are essential and parking is limited but the food is very good and well priced. Do yourself a favour and eat here when visiting Launceston or out for the night. I will be back for flying home.

We went for a meal I had steak which was cooked well , partner had seafood basket which was also done well. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only issue I had was from the older gentleman delivering the meals, not to us but other customers. A lady asked for a plate and he proceeded to twirl it around in his hands making sure to touch the entire surface of the plate and then another couple asked for two spoons and he decided to hold the spoons at the part that you eat from and play the spoons all the way over to there table. Not sure if he’s heard of Covid or just hygiene in general but I certainly wouldn’t have been eating of either of them.

For a grill that specialises in steak you would think they could do it better. Dinner with my wife and two teenage sons, they all had porterhouse and I had a rump. My wife's was ordered rare but still so tough she couldn't eat it. All served with frozen chips by a waitress who practically threw the plates down on the table. Expecting much better for the price, but at least they didn't charge us for my wife's meal.

Wine by the glass (about 50mls) ($12) and no idea what it was as the bottle wasn't shown. Garlic bread out of a cheap box and very ordinary. Craft beer available but when asked about it was told "it is black in a bottle and comes from New Zealand. "Snitzels ordinary and only came with poor quality chip s" You want salad that will be extra" Total for two people $85 with no invoice given. Service good as there seemed to be more staff than customers. Won't be back .

We were actually staying at the Centennial Inn so had to walk through Steve’s to get inside. Our first looks to each other said it all- worth a try for dinner. Pleasant decor, extensive menu and the staff, especially Alex, were so lovely. We put our bags upstairs, checked out our room and then came downstairs for dinner. We shared the rissoles, gravy and veggies and a side of onion rings. OMG! The rissoles were amazing- real old fashioned home made rissoles. Luscious gravy for dipping them in. The choice of veggies was excellent. And the onion rings in tempura batter were light and crunchy and perfectly cooked.

We had a fantastic lunch at Steve’s Grill yesterday! Walking in the door the atmosphere felt warm and inviting and the service was impeccable. The menu had something for everyone, my step son had the fish and chips, my partner had the delicious parmi bites and chicken skewer and I had the parmi special and wow it was better than what I expected. We will be going back to taste the rest of the menu.

Just called into Steves Grill for lunch (Sunday) without a reservation and was greeted by a smiling young lady (Raine) and shown to a table for 2. The menu is very extensive and we were spoilt for choices but settled on crumbed scallops and crumbed chicken schnitzel. Both meals were very large and filling and the crumbed coating very light which shows that they certainly change their oil regularly. We were quite impressed with the service as Raine was very attentive both for drinks and the meal and enquired as to whether everything was to our satisfaction. This was our first visit to this establishment but certainly wont be our last and would thoroughly recommend it.

My partner and I arrived in Launceston a little later than expected on a Friday evening and decided to give Steve's grill at The Centennial a try. The venue seemed very covid safe and we were seated quickly by the friendly wait staff. I ordered a rare 300g rump steak with vegetables. The rump steak was perfectly cooked but the quality of the steak was only fair. I have some special dietary requirements so couldn't eat all of the vegetables so I can only comment on what was on my plate. The carrots were sauteed in butter and thyme and were excellent but my green beans had been well and truly overcooked. The steamed corn on the cob was tasty and fresh. My partner ordered a single roast duck leg and she found it to be very dry. My partner also commented that the lighting in the venue was overly bright. My meal was really an old school counter meal and at $35 the pricing of my meal didn't reflect the quality of what was on the plate.

Fantastic service and excellent food! All staff were warm and inviting and very attentive. Food was impeccable. We had the crumbed eye fillet which was served with a generous serve of delicious vegetables. The meals sizes are huge and very reasonably priced. Although we frequent Launceston often, we had never been before but will certainly be back.

Went for lunch. Staff were friendly, service was good. They used Nacho sauce on the parmy which wasn’t very tasty. The gravy tasted off (possibly had lemon squeezed into it). Steak was nice but considering the price I think we all expected more vegetables to served with it. I would not recommend going here for a parmy and it certainly is not worth the money. I would definitely recommend trying the scallops, they were a great dish and definitely worth the money. Overall, the restaurant was clean, the staff were attentive and the scallops were good. I would go back here again to try another dish.

We had our last night in Tassie at Steve’s and it was the best meal we had since we arrived. The seafood platter was amazing, with a very generous amount of well cooked salmon, prawns, scallops, calamari and fish. The Turkey roast was also great. Service was good and we had two lovely bottles of wine. Great night and I would highly recommend this restaurant

We startted with a glass of the very good house wine. The pate was smooth, rich and delicious served with buttered toast squares. It was the start of a fabulous, relaxing meal. My partner ordered the small meal duck leg. It was done perfectly and with a great sauce. My scallops were tender, flavorful and the coating on the outside was very light and crispy. Both dishes came with veggies and potato. For being the small plates we were very satisfied. Steve took our desert order and assured us the chocolate desert was wonderful and my plum pudding was made in house. Both were the perfect celebration of our meal. Steve's is clean, classic and the perfect, relaxing place to end our weeks stay in town. Thank you Steve for a very enjoyable meal and your conversation.

Really struggled to find somewhere nice to eat in Launceston near where we were staying so booked into Steve's Grill at the Centennial Hotel and it was probably one of the nicest pub meals we had anywhere in Tassie. The staff were friendly and the meal was reasonably priced and great size portions. Would highly recommend anyone to book in here for a meal that you will really enjoy

The restaurant looks lovely and quite upmarket. The steak I had was delicious and we were told it was an apprentice, so accolades to him or her. My only disappointment from previous visits, is the presentation - a piece of steak with sauce poured over and frozen chips thrown on. Prior to Covid there was an excellent salad bar included, now you have to pay for a salad. Just adding a lettuce leaf, some sliced baby tomatoes, some red onion and a drizzle of dressing would have made the plate look great and elevate the eating experience. Maybe a small jug of sauce on the side. The young man who served us was very attentive and friendly. He was unsure of what was being offered additional to the normal menu - extra training required, we felt.
