Had been there previously, since new management have taken over and renovated the place, the decor now is very light and stylish. Very warm and cosy atmosphere. The management and staff are genuinely friendly and made time to interact with patrons. The food was great! The golden syrup dumplings were delicious! We will certainly be returning when ever we are... More

Ben and his staff have established one of the best pubs I've been in for many a year. The moment we walked in we were befriended by Ben and the bar flies. Ben made all the time in the world to makes us comfortable and was very informative of the sights around Launceston. He talked us into staying for a... More

We were told that the Irish had recently undergone a transformation so we decided to check it out. The new dining room was warm and inviting, the food was fantastic and the staff were excellent. After our meal we were entertained in the main bar area with two musicians and the outside area was a total breath of fresh air... More

Visited The Irish when in Launceston last week, it has a great atmosphere and would love to return in summer to enjoy their incredible decks. Enjoyed the hospitality of Ben and Alex and our pastas were delicious. The restaurant is stylish and the fire added to the great feeling. Well priced and located, can't wait to visit again soon Kate

We went as a party of 6 from child to elder... Service and staff were very good. Meals were good and sizeable with everyone eating their fill. Major bonus points by serving ice-cream and cream (plus plays and Cutlery) with our bought in birthday cake - no charge for cakage!!! Would happily return any day!!

We stumbled on The Irish when we had arrived late into Launceston and nothing else was open. the 2 guys playing were really good and the staff were great. We had a meal there the next night - a very tasty Pizza. Prices very reasonable for both food and wine. Nice atmosphere after a busy day sighseeing.

We were looking for an affordable place to hsve dinner, and the Irish exceeded all our expectations. There are plenty of restaurants in the area to choose from, and from the street this looks like just another pub, but believe me when I say, the food matches anything you'd expect in a proper, much more ecpensive, restaurant. The serving were... More

Feeling hungry from a days sightseeing we decided that we needed some old fashioned dinner. On attending the Irish they had a Beef and Guinness Pie on the menu, but with chips!!. A quick word to the waitress soon had the meal arrive with mashed potatoes and veggies.. The only way to eat beef and Guinness pie, is of course... More

The place must have been going through a revamp as half the building was closed on the night we popped in. It was very quiet with 4 or 5 locals at the bar. But the friendly service was nice and the food was awesome. Lamb shanks as good as any ever tasted and a spot on Guinness and beef pie.... More

Great place for excellent Irish style food at a good price. Live music every night so plan a meal and stay a while for the music.
