Nice setting by the river, lots of outside space for food and drinks, quite buzzy, service was pretty good, enjoyed some cocktails and some wine, food a little disappointing considering the menu prices, a little messy in presentation, menu reads better than it delivers

Had dinner last night, place itself is nice location/setting, we had entree drunken chicken and pork belly, mains we had braised pork /w dry fry yellow curry and lamb shoulder and side "burnt" carrots /w miso butter. From the 4 dishes + side dish I...tried I feel like the menu was laid out nicely but not so well executed, the drunken chicken was mostly nice but firstly it was WAY WAY to smaller serve for the $22 price tag and there was far too much sauce on the plate and it the shaoxing flavour was reduced too far so it was incredibly salty, plus too much thickener was used in the sauce whether it be agar agar or other I'm not sure, either way the sauce on both entrees were too gloopy. The actual flavour of the chicken was good though but again too little bang for buck. As for the main the pork was just disappointing, though the pork was tender the issue here was over 1/3 of the pork was fat and this is something the chefs should be aware of, when using shoulder or belly or jowl they need to realise when you're charging $45 for a dish it's unacceptable to have THAT much inedible pork on the plate and the yellow curry was borderline tasting more like a turmeric satay sauce the salad with the pork was almost good but it needed apple not cucumber as beyond the rauram there was nothing to compliment the rest of the dish, regardless half way through the dish I was over it due to the amount of fat that was on the dish. My partner seemed to enjoy her lamb so that was good. Overall it was a bit disappointing, on paper the dishes sounded great but the execution was so so. For that price point I was expecting a hell of a lot more as $45-50 for mains is territory when something special is what I expect. Lastly I forgot the carrots, please just get in some heirloom carrots and make a nice miso butter not just some thick julienne carrots that more than anything just tasted like too much butter with the most minut bit of miso.More

Our second visit to Mudbar, hoping for an improved experience. Sadly, as we sat down, our neighbouring table sent back their gristle filled lamb. We then ordered (only entrees as the mains were $40-$50) a couple of ‘tapas’ however after paying $25 for a bite-sized...piece of fat (aka pork belly) we also returned this plate. Disappointing.More

Really enjoyed our lunch at Mudbar. The food was great (love the fusion) and it was made even more memorable by the totally engaging personalities of the staff. They were fun, efficient and responsive - and made great cocktails. We were on the deck, which...had plastic awnings - perfect to be under cover and still have the views and outside feel.More

We enjoyed incredible food here at Mudbr, but our experience was made incredible by our waitress. We had Heps look after us for our NYE dining experience and she was AMAZING. Gave us great advice on the menu, checked up regularly on our food and...drink orders and made our experience one of the best for 2021. She had a great sense of humour and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great night. Would 100% recommend coming here not only for the amazing food but also for the amazing service. Thank you Heps, you were great.More

Loved the oysters, and lamb. A little noisy...but it was Xmas eve so no drama. Great outlook. Pleasant staff.

We have been fortunate enough to dine in some excellent restaurants around the world but our evening last night was right up there with the best! Firstly, the exceptional service from our lovely waitress Brenna - who made our dining experience so enjoyable. Her knowledge...of the menu and wine was excellent but she still asked the Sommelier to chat to us about our taste and budget. And secondly, our food was delicious and there was no problem asking for some alterations to the dessert menu - both of which were so yummy! A great night!More
