Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful breakfast and brunch menu. There are plentiful choices from simple sourdough toast and homemade preserves, to the more sustaining fare. We tried the “ Splendid eggs” a filled savoury toastie with beautifully poached local eggs and hollandaise sauce. Delicious! The coffee carefully made to...your preference. A friendly comfortable venue with generous host, thank you Lyn.More

Lovely atmosphere, comfortable variety of seating arrangements for individuals or groups of all sizes. Staff were friendly and attentive, while the menu was interesting and fresh. We had breakfast and lunch during our stay, enjoying the display of products, fresh pack meals and beautiful gifts....Well worth a visit. If we lived closer it would easily become our local coffee spot!More

What a gorgeous spot. Stopped in for brecky with the family while visiting the area from Melbourne. What a brilliant way to sample the amazing produce available in the region. So many fabulous breakfast options, some of them really creative and totally amazing (I’m looking...at you, Vietnamese scrambled eggs)… all options we had were obviously crafted with great care and absolutely delicious. Also spoiled myself a bit with a brecky cocktail (I am in holidays after all!). Attached pantry store has some gorgeous local produce, our difficulty was not buying all the things. Service was ultra friendly, felt like we were regulars. They were great with the kids and super accommodating with their menu for our picky eaters. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a really warm, friendly and authentic brecky in Mt Gambier.More

We had lunch here the whole family today and I must say it was such a disappointment! We chose the place based on the reviews, however I don’t want anyone else to do the same mistake! The cappuccinos were good. The rest... The risotto today...with beetroot, rocket salad and a pinch of feta cheese. Totally overcooked rice that looked like porridge and didn’t taste much better. The gnocci of the day was with Ragù and it was overcooked and not tasty at all. We wanted sandwiches with avocado, but they ran out of that... The kids ate pancakes and the were average at the most. For 19$ you would expecting more. The service was really slow and the food arrived at different Times. It’s a nice setting and cozy atmosphere! The girls at the cashier were friendly and helpful!More

We went here based on reviews however we found it to be overrated. My husband only found one thing on the menu that he could eat and even then it was disappointing that white bread was the only option for a toastie at a steep...price. I ordered a pumpkin salad which cost $19 and was hardly filling. The atmosphere in the seating area is cool. Very spacious. We were both hungry after our lunch so my husband went to order some dessert. After waiting for more than five minutes at the counter with two female staff chatting to each other and then one of the staff walked away whilst the other staff member just stood there and then walked away also, he figured he wasn’t going to get served which was quite bizarre as they didn’t have other customers to serve. Would not recommend this place based on very pricey food with small portions and careless service.More

We came here while visiting Mt Gambier from Adelaide over the weekend, twice. Once for breakfast and the next time mainly for a drink. We decided to go here as it wasn't so central and were glad we did. The service was exceptional. All staff...were friendly and approachable. The food was amazing - I had the Potato Rosti, and the coffee was nice. There was a good amount of food and drink options available, plus table service. Support your local by going here. I wish I could come here more often but it would be a bit of a drive.More

My family and I came here for lunch after seeing such great reviews about this cafe. However we were left very disappointed and had to leave without eating from having been ignored for about 20 minutes. Upon arrival we were given a table which we...had booked over the phone by a lady I assume was the owner. She told us she would come back to take our order. No one came back after about ten minutes and then one of us went to the front and told her that our table was ready to order. We then watched her fluff around - cleaning tables, going to the store room and talking with the other patrons who were eating. She looked at us twice but continued to go about her way. She even went to serve two customers who came in after us and prepared a table for someone who had also arrived later after us. I don’t like to use the race card but it was clear by now she was ignoring us because we were black, seeing people who were white who came behind us were all quickly served and provided tables. We decided to leave as it had been nearly 20 minutes of us patiently waiting and no sign of anyone coming to take our orders (even after reminding them). When we started leaving the owner just dismissively said “sorry I forgot”. The place was not even full either due to Covid restrictions so there is no excuse for this blatant microaggression.More
