Dining here will long be remembered. We ordered and there was a power failure which wiped our order off the computer system. When our lack of food was bought to the attention of the staff we received complimentary drinks and garlic bread on the house....The group of six had a wide range of food. The ragu gnocchi was great, some of the best gnocchi I have been served. The ragu sauce was rich and tasty. The calzone was rated as ordinary. The salads were tasty.More

Having been a 20+ year diner at The Strand - tonight was disappointing. $15 corkage was fine, but waited for 20 minutes for the glasses to arrive at the table, before we had to pour our own. Then had to request water. Kangaroo, which is...normally great was tough and dry - over-cooked. Asked twice - 'How was the meal' - Fish was great but the kangaroo was dry and tough - 2 disingenuous replies "sorry about that" from staff. Hmmm. Unfortunately some things don't always stay the same.More

Have eaten here many times. Always noisy whether inside or out. wonder whether there has been a change of ownership recently. We ordered focaccias which all had very small main fillings. Mine was changed because I showed the waiter the miserable amount of salmon in...my focaccia. Won’t be coming again, very disappointing. The wine was cold. And as previously mentioned no hand sanitisers that I could see.More

Had the chicken salad (grilled) for $26 and couldn't eat the chicken it was so overcooked and dry. Told the waitress and she could not have cared less! The table was sticky and felt like it needed a good scrub. Would not go back to...this cafe.More

Food is fantastic, pasta the best I have had for a long time. Great service, food was quick, hot and yummy. Bar staff a little slow, but he quality of the food makes up for the slow drinks. Was a nice night to sit out...the front, have some lovely food and watch the world go by.More

Place has a nice ambience and service is good. Food was very good and the selection a cut above the usual offers. The problem is the road outside with idiots driving around and around revving their engines and annoying everyone and vibrating the food on...the table. This restaurant owner should get police and council to stop this.More

The end result food was good, however wasn't what I ordered so they had to take it back to the kitchen to make again. Then at the end of the meal they didn't take the entertainment book voucher, which is the whole reason I booked...the restaurant in the first place (their reason was no voucher with split bills - however it doesn't state this on the voucher, menu or anywhere). Very disappointing and will not be back or recommending to others.More

The Strand Café is halfway along Jetty Road, so no sunset view from the Café. There are some restaurants closer to the beach, but cant say what the view/noise levels will be like. Sunset should be 8.30pm on 5 Jan. Do a walk... More
