Very good service. Waiters were friendly and attentive. Enjoyed my meal off the specials menu - steak wrapped in bacon with mash and asparagus. Ordered my steak blue but it can medium rare - seemed to be an unknown concept. Lovely experience.

I go every week, often for coffee and cake, sometimes for a meal. The staff are always friendly, smiling and attentive, they make you feel welcome
I have visited the place with my friends and we had the Mediterranean chicken salad and supreme pizza. From warm hospitality to authentic flavors, it exceeds expectations. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and guides you through the menu of traditional dishes with a modern twist....The cozy yet sophisticated ambiance sets the stage for an unforgettable evening. Each bite was a revelation, with perfectly cooked dishes. The extensive wine selection, recommended by the sommelier, enhanced the flavors. A must-visit for an extraordinary, authentic Italian culinary journey. Highly recommended.More
we are interstate costumers who have been visiting the strand on every trip to Glenelg, we usually order the gnocchi but was severely disappointed as the menu says house made gnocchi but when we asked the waitress if it was homemade she hesitated and said...no she will check with the chef she returned with a smirk and said it was homemade we were reluctant and the manager came out to tell us it’s bought in, so it’s not homemade in house as the menu says, lying about homemade menu items is very disappointing, the owners of the buisness has changed from previous years and so has the food :(More
A icon in Glenelg but still serving good food and coffee. I find the tables a bit on top of each other, but often the place is packed. It is a great place to meet friends, table service, and it must be doing something right...to remain in business all these years. Sometimes new waiters get food orders mixed up, as was our experience, however all was sorted and it’s a place we all drift back to. It’s not fast food, it’s not fine dining, it’s not a pub, it’s The Stand Glenelg!More
After trying several other restaurants in the neighborhood The Strand became our first choice. Excellent grilled salmon and interesting starter options too.
Had dinner with my friend and we both were underwhelmed by the food. I had the chargrilled chicken and she had the pork belly. The food was eatable but it wasn’t overly delicious. Drink service was slow and we decided to go elsewhere for dessert.
We had lunch and dinner at this lovely restaurant. The food was excellent, the staff were welcoming and we at there a number of times. Highly recommended,
It's been a long time between visits (over 3 years) but wanted to see if as good as last time. Welcomed at the door and given a choice of seating. Menus handed to me and immediately asked if wanted some water. A whole bottle was...then brought over immediately which is a big tick in my book. Breakfast menu had a number of choices. Asked for the big breakfast but rather than Chorizo could I have Avocado? This was no problem. Coffee and juice brought out shortly after placing my order and while I waited for my food I read a newspaper that was complimentary. Big breakfast was very nice. Bacon crispy, eggs poached and still with a runny yolk. Mushrooms, tomato, hash brown, avocado and 2 slices toast all enjoyable too. Staff attentive and pleasant. Only drawback was the coffee. It was pretty bitter which some might like but not me. Mind I haven't found a place in Aus so far where I have enjoyed a hot coffee. A good black coffee is very hard to find. Overall I enjoyed my meal and felt the staff and atmosphere very welcoming. Would wholeheartedly recommend.More
Ordered from special menu pork ribs dryer out meat very average don’t know why people think this place is good won’t see one cent of my money again
Stopped in on a rainy afternoon after a short tram ride to enjoy pizza, pork ribs, adult beverage and dessert. It was an excellent choice.
Food took 45 minutes to come out. Rude staff who are unable to understand English. Kangaroo and chicken were as dry as the Sahara. When a complaint was made the staff informed us that it had changed owners 10 months ago and this is the...obvious problem.More
Service was fantastic. Food was amazing. Huge quantities. Waiter offered to take pics for us. Was super attentive but not over the top. Just closed too early. Friday night at 9.30 got kicked out. Typical Adelaide lol
The strand is usually one of our must eat at when we visit Adelaide but tonight we were let down. The food was very average, the garlic bread was horrible! The customer service was almost as bad. My expectations of the Strand have now dropped...massively.More
