My wife and I ordered the crumbed steak and rump, and both were perfect. The service was really friendly and the server was lovely even though they were quite busy. The meals take a while to be served here so don’t go for a ‘quick...bite’ but apart from that very good.More

Visited Friday night for dinner, menu was very disappointing. Meal was average, nothing outstanding. Chefs looked like they needed a visit from Gordon Ramsay! Hadn’t been to the Downs in ages, don’t think I will return for a while.
Well nothing nice to say about this lunch, gravy was cold chips were cold salad was old no dressing meat was fatty vegies were cold, parmy was ok. Lemon lime and bitters well wouldn't get another. One of our party requested a refund it was...so bad. Sorry but our meals were awful won't be coming back anytime soon.More
Bar lady was happy and polite despite being quite busy. I had crumbed steak and my partner rib fillet. Both meals came out together and not long after ordering. Crumbed steak was crispy and delicious. Salad dressing was to die for. Rib fillet was tender...and cooked as requested - medium rare. The onion rings were perfect. Mushroom gravy a little salty, but over all well Priced good value meal in a clean friendly atmosphereMore

We have found an excellent pub to take lunch and or dinner at when in Toowoomba vis iting friends there. Have been there a few times now and always good food, good friendly staff, the owner Stfan comes along to say hello too. Always good...menu selections on offer, the daily Specials too hold very good choices. Recently they added Canadian Club and dry on tap, progressive!More
Some friends from Sydney visited us so we took them for lunch at the Downs Hotel. Pre lunch drinks were good and cold, better pricing than many hotels so some had more than expected but we had a designated driver so all were happy. A...new menu showed some lovely choices, the Specials were great too, between us we chose from both, really tasty, service was fantastic, friendly too. Dessert was a winner for all of us, we tried four dishes, all were great. Value for money in the prices tempted us with a few dollars on the pokies. Good fun!More
The four of us this time went for Sunday lunch. The food was great as usual and the desserts are certainly something special. I cheated and had half my husband's desert as well because I couldn't decide which one to have. Mmmmm yummy.
