As we sit here having received our starters 3mins and outcome our mains. Oh we can put (our medium rare steaks) back under the lights to wait. Our choice. We won't do this again. Come here that is. I've just received my steak with my sauce on the side all over it.

It is with heavy heart that I actually write this report - we holiday @ South West Rocks every year & for the past couple of years we actually make a point of coming out to Gladstone for the day to enjoy the surroundings as well as having lunch/dinner at this beautiful Hotel. The last 2 years we have been... More

We went in a group of 6 adults and 2 kids, my husband and I ordered 2 chicken parmigianas which somehow was interpreted as 2 open steak sandwiches. When they were brought out we clarified our order and they told us we had to pay the difference of $6 between the 2 options and we had to wait another 15... More

A simple place, with white plastic tables. The food is simple as well, but tasty. The staff were really nice and welcoming. Just next door is a bar, where you can buy drinks.

We were doing a day of wandering back roads and came upon this spot, recommended by friends...and we were delighted with the find. The location is nice, very quiet with a bit of local history around and a lovely view, albeit becoming rather warm on the upstairs balcony as the sun moved onto us. The food was superb, not cheap... Relaxed, friendly atmosphere; top service, good variety of tasty meals. A little noisy when the bistro is full - poor acoustics. Highly recommended eatery in this lovely village.

We were passing through Gladstone on the sunny Queen's Birthday holiday; the Darkwater Brasserie was busy but luckily still had tables free. There was plenty on the main menu to choose from and all the meals I saw being delivered to tables looked tasty. We both had Chicken Schnitzels which were good, as were the accompanying chips & salad. Having... More
