Perfect place to eat

Ate here on 23 April 2021 (Friday night). The service was prompt and friendly and so was the arrival of the food. The quality of the steak (wagyu) and seafood (mixed grill) was as good as I have eaten anywhere and the quantity was ample without wasting anything. The place was warn and inviting and the armchairs were very comfortable. We couldn't have picked a better place to eat. All in all a wonderful night.

Outstanding in Every Detail

Excellent food, service and ambience. The new restaurant envirment is fantastic and fits the idea of a steakhoues with its mural of the outback which took eight months to paint. The food quality is excellent and reflected in the prices. You pay for what you get.

Best Eye Fillet Ever!

Best steak ever! Now don't get me wrong as some of the best steaks have been enjoyed in Johannesburg, South Africa over the decades, however. To find the best piece of steak ever, in my home town, priceless! Located in The Builders Club, formerly Master Builders, Wollongong. It has always been difficult to find a good piece of beef locally in Australia as most of the best cuts are exported to USA and Japan. The menu at Stonegrill Steakhouse was not complicated or full of pages of steak varieties to choose from but just a few pages showcasing the great selection of beef from the best cattle producing regions of Australia. Manager Jesus was outstanding in providing great product knowledge of the menu and very helpful in guiding our decision to choose the best piece of meat for our taste. Southern Prime Eye Fillet was the best cut and choice of steak I have ever experienced at a steakhouse. Steaks come out on a 400 degree volcanic stone where you cook your meat to your exact liking. After searing each side you begin the process of cutting the steak down continually turning the meat until all gone. I chose the baked potato and stir fry vegetables as the accompanying sides. Enjoyed with a bottle of 2019 Wolf Blass Grey Label Shiraz. Ate like a king! The service and hospitality from manager Jesus and his team was outstanding. 13/10

Great Staff, Superb meal and Fabulous Cocktails

We have dined here twice in the past two months. The food is absolutely delicious with the steaks melting in your mouth and the staff are great. The waitress/hostess Simone was always smiling and nothing was too much to ask, she really is a fabulous asset to the business and Patty makes THE BEST COCKTAILS in all of Wollongong. We really enjoyed this restaurant, it's our new favourite.

Great food and atmosphere with friendly staff

Our server Jesus was attentive and accommodating with dietary requirements and went above and beyond searching for a suitable meal. He had a great sense of humour and advised the best way to enjoy our experience. (Food was cooked to perfection 😉). All the staff were friendly, food and drinks were great, atmosphere was light. Highly recommend wearing the unfashionable white disposable bib as your dining accessory to protect from the spitting meat on the hot stone that’s in close proximity to your clothing…and don’t wear white.

Amazing Stonegrill

The steak was in the top steaks I’ve ever had. The staff and atmosphere was great we were seated and drinks offered right away. My daughter had the chicken and chips and loved cooking it on her stone. I had the eye fillet and was 10/10 but partner had the wagyu and prawns and it was Devine. Every table had an empty plates. There was nothing left on our plates. I can’t wait to come back again.

2 HOURS TO GET BREAD?!?!?!?!?

Absolutely horrific. I have already written a review about this, however, it was deleted. We had booked a table of 14 with children. When we arrived, the room was rightfully filled with smoke before we put in our orders. 2 HOURS LATER, out starters came, a small bread roll with some butter. The room was now empty except for us, and despite asking numerous times, we would be told our food would be out, but it never came. Our kids were falling asleep at the table. It is also something to note that we were the only ethnic group at the restaurant. We left and got KFC instead, which was amazing and had better service than this expensive restaurant. I would strongly encourage you to not choose this restaurant, and instead opt for another local shop. I would understand this if we had walked in, but we had booked the morning of, so there is really no reason for the long wait time.

Easy online booking Everyone we engaged with was attentive, patient and polite. Food was quick to come out and DELICIOUS. I had the rib eye which melted in my mouth. Perhaps a little over seasoned but that’s just my opinion. Smash Dessert was also very enjoyable. Thank you for a fantastic experience.

Family dinner for 13 at Stonegrill steakhouse

Very disappointed!! Booked a table earlier on in the week for Saturday dinner at 7pm. Arrived on time. Took them 30 minutes to take our orders. Took them over an hour to bring out our bread. We waited for 2 hours for the food to come out and it never did. We left @8:57 without eating. Kids were tired and sleeping at the table. It was appalling. They kept saying only 5 minutes. Not worthy the money and the wait!!

Great experience

Had an absolute ball with the family, we all enjoyed our steaks, we ordered a mix of options, and no one was disappointed...we can't wait to be back. The vegetarian option was also amazing, so many vegetables with halloumi. You won't be disappointed. Do it.
