Caveau is our definite go to place for amazing food we just can't cook! Degustation menus are always different, they use the best possible ingredients, lots sourced locally and it never fails to be amazing. Service is always second to none and when we match the wines with the different courses I always leave very very happy. Would highly recommend... More

We always eat at Caveau whenever we are in Wollongong. The degustation menu changes regularly so there is always something new and delicious to try. The 7-8 courses are very filling, especially if you choose to have the matched wines. The presentation of each dish is superb and the combination of flavours innovative. The service is friendly and welcoming. We'll... More

Heard a lot about this Hatted restaurant and on a rare kid free night decided to try it out. I am always happy to pay good money for good food and knew it was pricey but expected it to live up to its hype......well it didn't! Some of the food was nice, some really didn't hit the mark, in particular... More

Heard a lot about this restaurant so we thought we would give it a try. Had the onion panisse which was the size of a chunky cut chip. Main was the mushroom risotto. Small and bland. Absolutely no flavour. Noooo atmosphere at all. A grey cell type room with two tables (upstairs). You could hear the people in the next... More

This is a little gem of a Resturant in Wollongong. I have visited here twice a year for tthe last 6 years and as to date have never been disappointed. If anything it just gets better and better.

Truly enjoyable experience. Stand outs were the duck egg which was thick and glutenous offset by pastrami and potato. The partridge and the accompanying rissole also something I really enjoyed. Great service and food in a friendly atmosphere. Thank you

We had the degustation on a Thursday evening and it was amazing. The standard from the previous chef/owners has definitely been maintained. Lots of interesting, unusual, and delicious local produce. Lovely and efficient staff and very pleasant atmosphere.

We had a private room for 11 people on Saturday night for the tasting menu. Service was great but long intervals between dishes. We all arrived at 630 and the last dish came out around 930. The food was good but bread roll was burnt and a couple of other minor glitches. The waitresses were all friendly and efficient. Also... More

This would be the best fine dining restaurant in the Illawarra, and beyond. You don't just go to eat, you go for the whole package, it's a dining experience. Food that looks like art on a plate, perfectly matched wines, a serene ambiance, and chefs and staff that know their food. Will definitely be returning, time again.

Overall ok experience but a bit too pricey. The degustation menu was nice but not amazing, hence $100+ per head does not seem right. The price may be high because fine dining competition is lacking in Wollongong. Another downside is the venue, which definitely lacks character for a restaurant of this type. Not saying I won't go back but there... More
