If you are ever in Port Macquarie and you like good quality seafood, make an effort to visit the Stunned Mullet. The restaurant is a little out of town under what looks like an apartment block and the ambience is nothing to write home about....But the food is fresh, really well prepared and the service is excellent.More

The Stunned Mullet is simply a great dining experience. Everything this place is first class. The space itself is beautifully designed. The tables are well spaced and the lighting strikes the right balance between private and accommodating. The service cannot be faulted. The wine list...is extensive and boasts an impressive selection of interesting and rare alternatives, which the knowledgeable staff are happy to discuss. All of the menu items are well explained and food arrives at prompt and appropriate intervals. As for the food---superb. Local ingredients are highlighted and everything is prepared with skilful technique and wonderful nuance of texture and flavour. This is our first time in Port Macquarie, but if we ever return we will definitely enjoy a dinner at the Stunned Mullet.More

Very unique cutting edge Australian Food, predominantly Seafood, but has choices. If you’re a wine buff, this restaurant is a must. In short, great food and wine.

From entry to our exit the hospitality and service was incredible. The food was beautifully presented, each meal was exquisite in taste especially the signature dish the ‘Toothfish’. We visited years ago and loved the Stunned Mullet and without a doubt our experience this visit...was even better. Absolutely one of a kind experience- thank you.More

Absolutely faultless. The service was amazing, knowledgeable, friendly and relaxed. The food was outstanding. Portion sizes were spot on which meant we were able to have all three courses. We both found it difficult to make a choice as the menu items all sounded so...delicious. Would thoroughly recommend visiting this restaurant. We arrived the night before to check out the menu and were blown away, being a set menu we required permission to add into our away budget. We were so excited when we got the go ahead and booked immediately. Upon arrival we were greeted...and made to feel so welcome, the explanation of the menu was so detailed but not confusing, and pauses were made to allow questions. There were supplements to the set menu & oysters prepared three ways were also on offer. To say it was a "gastronomic out of this world cuisine experience" would be an understatement. I chose scallops, wagyu & Japanese gelato for dessert, my colleague prawns, eye fillet & chocolate tart for her dessert. We were so overwhelmed with wonderful textures, flavours & presentation of the dishes, by the time we left we felt nothing like colleagues having dinner together, we felt like we had been on an intimate date together. That feeling came about by being submersed in the decadent furnishings, low lighting and accompanying music at a volume the promoted quiet conversations between diners that could not be heard by guests at other tables. We learnt that you are expanding and we cant wait to book again, I haven't mentioned wines as we are both not drinking this year, but we very much looking forward to our next visit in spring, and the following one in the new year,when we will definitely will be enjoying accompanying wines from the extensive wine cellar. (The tablet feature on the wine list is yet to be explored). Just looking around at some of my favourite wines on display had my tannin taste buds almost convincing me to ask for a glass, however we stuck to our resolve and enjoyed refreshing sparkling water in stylish wine glasses - a perfect placebo effect. We literally cant wait to come back, the two gentleman that took the greatest of care to ensure we had an amazing experience were nothing short of fabulous. Unfortunately we left with a bang, my colleague accidently knocked over a water glass on the table next to us as she put her coat on, her apologies muffled by comforting comments saying it wasn't a problem ....... See you soon Stunned Mullet ..... and seriously that was us when we left !! Food excellent,service very good,ambience good, no wow factor 13.5/20 A bit expensive overall and the wine list is over the top and very expensive. But hey, they are passionate about what they do.

Always delicious, always spoilt - treat yourself to the top restaurant in Port Macquarie! It never disappoints.

An amazing wonderful night. The staff were fantastic and very knowledgeable, even across the massive wine range. The food was to die for, especially the oysters ! We regularly indulge in fine dining across Sydney and found The Stunned Mullet to be now one of...our favourites! As ever, Stunned Mullet provided a friendly environment and staff, brilliant food (not excessive amounts but great flavours) and superb wine. It made a birthday celebration as special as in the past.
