We had an anniversary dinner tonight at Muse Restaurant. The 4 course menu was fantastic. We particularly liked:Sebago potato and speck fondant;Little Hill Farm Chicken with cured pork neck matched with sides of Charred Kipfler potatoes and Fried Brussel sprouts;and finally the award winning Muse coconut dessert.The...dessert was very special. We matched the food with a very drinkable bottle of Briar Ridge Semillon.A very special meal. Not cheap at $200 a head but appropriate given what is on offer.More

We chose to dine here in celebration of our 10 year wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint - luxury and fine dining from start to finish. A sucker for an upsell, we added pre dinner drinks, truffles and the cheese course to our experience....Every dish was spectacularly presented and beautifully matched. The sommelier was knowledgeable and passionate and our waitress was friendly but not obtrusive. Attention to detail is obvious and a lovely experience for a special occassion.More

Each and every moment of this restaurant was amazing. Every option, every course, every sip of wine. So much minute detail ....including the staff picking up on dietary requirements without being asked and adapting even my husband's meal to be the same without compromising anything.

Gorgeous interior with beautiful atmosphere but once it got really busy, it was impossible to order more drinks. The main's flavours were not balanced at all and I was super surprised. However, that coconut dessert was out of this world.

An overall lovely experience. Food was great and the accommodations for my dietary requirements were met (without any hesitation and with consideration of it still being tasty). We had the matching wines which was great not having to think about sharing wines whilst having different...dishes. Great service too.More

We had heard great things about Muse and had big expectations but they were completely surpassed. The menu, cooking, dish presentation, wine and service were all absolutely superlative - it was an extraordinary experience on every level. Could not recommend highly enough to any foodie.

The coconut dessert was worth the visit to this restaurant. However, even though most of the courses were delectable, the main course left a lot to be desired. As there are choices within the courses, I chose chicken. When it arrived a section of the...chicken was raw. When I called over the waiter, he tried to convince me that this chicken was especially raised for this restaurant and that the chicken was meant to be like that. I was not impressed at all with his response as I'll never eat uncooked chicken. I was brought an alternative meal which was not of "Muse standard", that is, there was a solitary piece of meat, (no accompaniments) which was cold and barely cooked. Needless to say, I didn't eat it.More

Oh my goodness first class dining experience. Everything was amazing from the minute we walked in, with someone opening the door for us. It doesn’t miss anything and such attention to detail. The ambience, quiet, light music, lightly lit, beautiful. You can see the whole...kitchen but no noise coming out from there. The food, what a culinary experience. It was amazing, presentation, taste-superb. The matched wine, the sommelier really so knowledgable and so informative, she was patient and explained about each wine. The service, our waitress (Jess I think) no rushing, explained each dish meticulously and Sam was really fantastic and welcoming too. Will certainly return, blown away by this restaurant in the Hunter Valley.More

My wife and I were looking forward to a fine dining experience which commenced by being warmly greeted by the Restaurant Manager who showed us to our table and mentioned that the wait staff would be looking after us. The room was delightful - full...of ambience with a large open fire the center piece. The staff member duly arrived and introduced herself and took our order for water and at that point we asked if we could have a pre dinner drink a Dry Martini for my wife and a glass of French Champagne for myself. The staff member indicated she would have to "first check to see if there were any olives for the Martini" something which we both found strange given the stature of this restaurant. Our pre dinner drinks did eventually arrive after some delay which prompted us to ask for our meal and wine order to be taken. Entrees arrived promptly prior to finishing our pre dinner drinks. At that time we asked as to the whereabouts of our bottle of wine. We were advised that the wine was delayed "as we were still on pre dinner drinks" - there was no consultation with us re this decision. We found our wait staff member to be quite bland and cold in her attitude towards us and, in fact, the wait staff were, from our fine dining experiences, quite out of their depth compared to the highly efficient Restaurant Manager and the knowledgeable Sommelier who could fit in any fine dining establishment in Australia or overseas. The wait staff who attended our table described the dishes in a very rushed and monotone manner which we could not understand or even hear. Food wise, we were firstly disappointed in the limited menu offerings in each course and when the meals did arrive we were disappointed in the actual presentation of the various ingredients, in that all the different ingredients that went to make up the meal were all mixed in together. The exception was the desserts which were innovative and flavoursome. Overall a somewhat disappointing fine dining experience - 7/10.More
