Had heard so many good things about Amanda's and well lets just say they did not live up to their reputation. They are a little bit of a drive to get to, nice setting once you arrive, set amongst the vineyards. Appear to need more staff, as they were not very attentive to guests. Tables not cleared once guests left and plates etc left sitting on tables, we saw a couple ask to move to a table closer to the window and they were moved, we asked the same staff member if we too could move to a vacant table near the window and we were told no that table is a special request, noone turned up at all that evening to occupy that table and the same staff member then ignored us for the entire evening. Food is expensive and we saw food being sent back by customers and then my husband, who happens to be a butcher, was served a very very tough steak, a very well know name brand producer which he himself sells so he knows what the cut and quality should be like and was not at all what it should have been, after we raised this with one staff member then another staff member did come and speak to us and eventually after discussion agreed not to charge for this meal, from a place like this with prices like this I would not go back there again, overpriced, poor service and disappointing meal and overall experience

It was a grey cool day when we arrived, so everyone sat inside a delightful older style wooden home with a verandah for extra seating. In the Summer you could also sit outside . Straightaway the staff were pleased to see us and the menu offered some very interesting choices. I chose the duck which was delicious with a yummy sauce and vegetables. The dessert with bananas coated with a butterscotch sauce and icecream was also delicious. My husband really enjoyed his meal as well. By the time we left, the place was full. I recommend this restaurant, a little pricey, but for a very nice lunch with views of the vineyard, faultless service it was well worth it...

We were recommended Amanda's by a local, but each item we ordered was just not what we expected. The sausage in the gnocchi was extremely spicey and overpowered the mushrooms. The snapper/crab ravioli was bland. My duck was overdone, my husband's lamb was the same. Dessert was the high-point of the meal.

So first of all let me say the food was nice. However... having to pay the full bill $220 upon making your booking online was a bit cheeky in my opinion. We had all intentions of going but things do pop up in life where cancellations may be necessary. We arrived 15 minutes before our booking time. Upon sign in your directed to download the NSW App or give your details. I told the host I don’t want to download the app and for her take down our details. I don’t think she was too pleased. Upon seating we were given our wine straight away but it was around 45 minutes before we received the bread! First starter came out around 9pm; 1 hour 15 mins after being seated. Mains came out 9.30. Dessert came out around 10.10. Overall the food was lovely but overshadowed by an incredibly long service, especially considering you ordered all 3 courses up front. No apologies from any staff and a table behind us were served there dessert as soon as their mains were cleared. We however, had to ask where ours was 30 mins after our mains being finished.

Firstly I never post but need to vent about our experience at Amanda's. We arrived 15 minutes late and it went downhill from there. We were made to wait for 5 minutes as there was limited staff to seat us. The 'frosty' reception from the manager when she greeted us was a sign of things to come. We had tried to call to let them know we were on our way and she let us know that they don't answer the phone as they are concentrating on giving 100% service to the people in the restaurant. That soon became clear this was not the case. It took 3 hours to be served the 110$ pre paid limited menu. If you don't like pine nuts that's half your choice gone right there. When leaving I let the manager know that the service was slow. She then said 'technically you arrived half an hour late quickly telling me that she shouldn't have to put up with people like you and swore at me'. I could not believe it and asked for her manager. She then told me she was the owner and swore at me again!. She then quickly scurried away into the kitchen. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. A horrible experience. No customer service skills whatsoever!

We were slow to be seated, slow to get menus, slow to get offered water, slow to get a bread roll, slow to take order, kitchen was slow, and rather average delivery, one order was missed so had to wait. We were kinda second sitting at lunch while it was full when we arrived, it was half full when we were eating. Menu was good, and food nice, but I can't rave about it. The presentation of the dishes was basic, and looked rushed. Flavors and ingredients were good. Overall pleasant, but the slowness detracted and made the experience of questionable value considering the price points.

Firstly this in my opinion is the best restaurant for value and food in the Hunter Valley. Do book and it is not open every night. The staff are fabulous and the food is so so good you just keep wanting to go back. The value is great you can get three courses and a bottle of wine for a couple for $220.00 which in my opinion is great value. Wonderful views over the valley as well- This is one restaurant that really knows how to do food and service in the Hunter Valley.

I had high expectations based on good overall reviews, but was disappointed with the overall product delivery. A group of 4...squashed in to what should just be a table for 2 started us off poorly. We started with 2 Scallop entrees which were very nice, probably the best component of the evening. Followed with mains with mix ups all over the place, wrong orders uncoordinated meal delivery and average tasting meals. A charge for a bread roll squared away an average, at best, experience. Given the plethora of amazing restaurants in the region (nearby recommendations would include ESCA and Il Cacciatore), Amanda's would be too easy to give a miss and that would be what I will do next time.

Lovely staff, beautiful location, and a easy simple menu to choose from with well cooked dishes and superb flavours. The duck fat with the steak and potatoes was an interesting treat and something different which elevated the dish. The stuffed mushroom entree was divine and though slightly heavy on the garlic still delicious! The sticky date was delicious and the overall price for the menu was very reasonable. Bookings highly recommended and would probably recommend some background music as it would have added to the overall ambience.

Absolutely gorgeous setting, overlooking vineyards and a very well set 3 course meal, there was enough variation to cater for all tastes and the wait staff were fantastic, not just with interactions with us but with other customers around as well, even though they were not talking directly to us, the manner in which they addressed and spoke to everyone was fantastic, even with children at other tables. Altogether it just felt like a fantastic experience. the food was tasty, extremely well made although the cut of steak I got wasnt great, quite fatty for what it was but not really an issue for me, others may have an issue with it, althought it couldve just been an unlucky draw. apart from that the food was stand out fantastic and we will definitely be making an effort to come back here next time we are up. It is also worth noting it is quite cozy and small, so whilst they seem happy to cater for large groups, I feel like this venue is best experienced as a couple or small group, 4 people would be my max.

We had dinner here on a Monday night for our wedding anniversary and the meals were mostly lovey but we found it was overpriced in comparison to the quality of other dishes for the same price in the Hunter region. We had the duck dumplings for entree (5 pan fried dumplings for $22) and the crab and spanned ravioli for entree also. The ravioli was absolutely delicious, we loved it! The dumplings were okay but needed a soy sauce with it. Came with a hot chilli sauce only. For mains we had the duck and the ocean trout special. The duck was a bit overcooked and dry and for $39, we weren’t super impressed. The ocean trout was cooked beautifully and the veggies were lovely but a bit too salty. The desserts were fresh and $15. We had the mango with whipped cream, passion fruit ice cream and fresh fruit. We also had the hungarian pancakes and pistachio Icecream which weren’t what we expected (not overly sweet) but that’s how Hungarian pancakes are apparently. The service was great though, and it was a nice atmosphere. Would be nice for lunch sitting on the verandah.

A perfect outlook of the vineyards while sipping on a crisp wine. Beautiful menu with options of vegan as well which is why I will continue to visit here. Always feel like royalty here and your taste buds will appreciate the fine food served.

OMG is all I can say. We decided to have a special meal for my birthday during lock down and chose Amanda's because they had duck on the menu which if cooked properly is my favourite meat, and boy this just fell off the bone. We had two starters which were garlic prawns and pot sticker lamb dumplings which were shared and both were delicious, we then both had the crispy skin duck and I was in heaven it was perfect. Then courtesy of Amanda there was a sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce which she included with a happy birthday message, this too was delicious. Thank you Amanda and staff for such a wonderful meal.

We spent 5 days in Hunter trying different referred restaurants for a long lunches , and Amanda’s was our winner . Young cooks presented a fabulous array of entrees , mains and when we thought we were done , we shared 4 fabulous desserts .Credit to the culinary staff who are obviously well trained and managed ,as the head chef was away . Congrats to Amanda and team ,ticking all the boxes in a very coro and competitive environment 👍

Our small group opted for a 7.30pm covid timeslot at Amanda's. We had the 3 - course and wine menu selection and found good variety to suit most tastes. The food was very well received and delicious. There was a decent selection across the offerings on the menu and we all had an enjoyable relaxing evening. The portions for the mains may be a little on the lighter/smaller size for some but no complaints at our end. Staff were happy to accommodate changes to the wine offering with the menu and selected of the wider menu. Staff were friendly and kept quite busy. Would happily return to sample other options on their menu. p.s. they are a bit exey on their wine pricing which is somewhat expected.
