We celebrated our wedding anniversary at The Gate Restaurant. The 5 Course Degustation is an amazing experience, with the Dry Aged beef Tenderloin being the standout of the night. The wine selected to accompany the degustation, 2020 Leogate Estate Brokenback Vineyard Shiraz. What a memorable dining experience. From the time we arrive to a very inviting and sophisticated setting, where we were warmly welcomed by the team, everything was perfect. From the actual setting, the lighting, the view - all excellent. Then for the most important part,...the food, wow, wow, wow. Three of the 4 of us ordered the beef eye fillet - 1 medium rare, and the other 2 medium - all cooked to perfection. The flavour was amazing, accompanied by a delicious jus, and you must try the side dish of grilled pumpkin with chilli and feta - oh my word, it was absolutely delicious. We were super-impressed by this eatery in the heart of the Hunter. An interesting menu and wine list, pleasant dining room, and friendly, professional staff. We were more than happy with all the dishes we ordered. Highly recommended.

Perfect food and ambience. Service is great. Villas are perfect and spacious, very clean. Wineries are close by.

The steaks were exceptional, cooked to perfection. Food presentation was also excellent. Overall, we found there was actually too much food and we would have preferred to have just had one course. The service was really good, both ladies did a great job. Will return...next time in the Hunter.More

Ambience is relaxed/formal, our waitress was super friendly, knowledgeable and well trained. White table cloths, lovely glass ware and linen napkins. We had a great girls lunch here, in a beautiful vineyard setting. We loved the bright airy atmosphere in the atrium area. Fabulous food that was delicious and beautifully presented. Lots of different options including a vegetarian menu to keep us all happy. The desserts...were amazing, I would come back for the salted caramel bombe alaska alone, so good! Service was friendly but relaxed and no pressure when we were waiting on people to arrive. Good value for what we received as well. Would highly recommend, especially for groups.More
