What a lovely place. Food was great We ordered the Sashimi and Octopus for Entree (omg it was delicious) followed by Steak and Barramundi as mains. My husband commented the steak was the best he had ever had and it was perfectly cooked. The barramundi...had a nice subtle lime dressing on it and seriously was so good. We had Baked Alaska for desert, also delicious. Just a great place for food and wonderful service. This restaurant, in our books, is one of the best in the Hunter Valley and what really makes it stand out is that it is not pretentious but still provides a 10/10 in dining experience. Nice atmosphere all round.More

The food was just superb. The setting was lovely in the Keith Tulloch Estate. Wine list was excellent. Staff were a bit pushed as it was quite busy but they were all masked and the tables were well spaced. I was impressed all patrons put...their masks on before heading to the restrooms and passing other tables (we did the same). It is a long indulgent grown up lunch though so ideally don't bring the kids and pamper yourself.More

This restaurant gets so many mixed reviews. I will share our experience. We had a party of 10. The room and the location is beautiful. Lovely feel to it. The service we received was great - however we had the boss serving us, We were...there during increased COVID situation so restaurant was not as crowded as I expected. The food was lovely although the Black Garlic Sauce on the Haloumi dish was overbearing and the Haloumi size was far to big for an entree. The Kingfish was lovely by allm accounts as was the octopus. Mains - my steak was very good, others had the port steak and it was not tough. The fish was tasty and the kids enjoyed the pasta. As always desserts in Australia seem to be specialty - and they did not disappoint here. We were 4 adults, 3 x 15 year olds, a 12 year old and 2 x 10 year olds. We had a lovely lunch experience,More

I am afraid to say we were really dissatisfied today. From the $95 a head for 3 courses (including a vegetarian) the abundance of sad looking snow pea cress, the over cooked pork chop with bland crab meat ( I am sure it wasn’t but...looked and tasted like it had been frozen) the steak that was meant to be Medium Rare, but was still cold in the middle, had not been rested and only approx half edible due to the connective tissue….the fish fillet was sitting on a slice of tomato with some broccoli on the side really resembled a bad RSL dish….or may be the 50mins between entree and main….then the dessert…the cheese was so cold it was actually hard to cut, including the blue….3 tiny hard ‘chunks’ of cheese that the waitress could not tell me what they were….served with 6 huge slices of bread….then the Bombe Alaska that looked like and tasted like it had been made a week ago and had been sitting in the freezer….the service was polite but amateurish….wrong meals placed in front of customers, coffee handed literally across the table for one guest to hand to the other….I hate writing this as we loved our last experience here and have been to Muse restaurant twice before….but I am afraid we will not be back….maybe it was a bad day in the kitchen….but for a bill for $400 for 3 courses (one of them vegetarian) I think most people would agree to expect a little more care. I hope this was a bad day and not a reflection of the standard Muse Kitchen has become.More

This is our 2nd time at the Muse Kitchen, returning due to loving it so much the first time. Unfortunately this time we came out rather disappointed. The food was still lovely, but not as wow factor as the first time. The main downside was...that we waited too long for our main. We are talking hours. The wait between entree and main was crazy and it just kind of put us off, no longer feeling like it. Our sitting was 2-4pm and main came out after 4pm. We then had to rush our dessert because we had to leave by about 4.30pm. We were offered sides instead of dessert to allow us to leave on time but after paying $95 for 3 courses it would have been nice to eat them evenly spaced and in the time slot given. The staff did not go out of their way to make it enjoyable. Very basic customer service, you expect more at a venue like this. We won’t be back unfortunately. Many other places we can try in the Hunter.More

We checked in at 12:18pm and didn’t receive our Mains until 1:49pm. When enquiring about the Mains, was basically just told to respect the 2hr service - simple customer service would have been to apologise and check with the kitchen, but none of that. On...top of all that, being the only Asians during this sitting, my partner and I felt racially discriminated against. Whilst it is under the rules of premise to wear a mask when heading to the bathroom, understandably, my partner was called out by this waitress to wear a mask as it was the rule. But we observed other customers (non-Asian) headed to the bathroom without their mask and were not called out for it - Why should different rules apply according to the race of the customer? Food was ok but honestly, way too overrated. My partner ordered the duck curry where the combination was quite strange, didn’t have the right balance of flavours, the described “broken rice” was just watered down risotto. I ordered the pork dish which was on the tougher side rather than tender - again, don’t understand the added combination of crab meat and the combination of flavours just did not make sense in my point of view. Many other better food options around Hunter Valley that serve exceptional food and quality customer service. Will certainly not come back here again or recommend this to any of my friends, family, work colleagues or strangers for that matter.More

We had lunch today at Muse Kitchen.Fantastic location and setting even on a wet day.The food was of a very high standard. The only letdown was the main course Game Farm Duck which didn’t quite hit the mark.We did particularly like the Redgate farm quail saltimbocca...as a starter and the Pie&Doughnuts as dessert. We matched the food with a very drinkable 2018 Keith Tulloch Shiraz/Viognier.Service was friendly and helpful.More

We lunch at Muse Kitchen each year on our way to Scone for the races. Not withstanding covid, we were sat outside, as requested, under umbrellas so asto not get burnt. The staff were superb in their attentiveness without interfering with our lunch time conversation....The menu had a multitude of choice; no cop-out degustation menu like other well known Hunter restaurants! The wine list is excellent and highlighted many wines from other Hunter producers, like the superb Krinklewood Rose. I would recommend Muse Kitchen to anyone who wants a leisurely lunch in beautiful setting or a celebratory occasion dinner. Muse leaves Margan for dead!More

I’m giving it 5 stars: great food, service and ambience. We had a lovely light-filled room overlooking the garden area and the service was efficient, pleasant and attentive. We had the most delicious lunch: each course was wonderful - beautifully presented and full of flavour.

Took my husband here for his birthday. We really enjoyed the food and the wine selection. Service was attentive. The noise level did become quite loud; would be worth investigating how this could be alleviated.

When we were there, there were 3 tables that had children. The staff were fabulous with them. But it's not a restaurant where there are kiddies running about if you know what I mean. It's a very special & a hatted one too... More
