We love this lunch spot, returning each time we visit Hunter Valley, and my menu choices were excellent, the lobster lasagna very unusual and the chocolate tart dessert sublime. It was a scorching day so we ate inside, not on the veranda

We had a first class meal. Top food. Great wine from the vineyard. A really attentive waiter who went out of his way to explain the food and wine. Thoroughly recommend.

Elegant venue. Crab entree was nice. Mains of fish, duck and pork chop were very good. Duck was really small serve of just two slices of breast. A glance at another table had a rather larger leg as well. Pork chop was delicious. Highlight of...the main course was the crisp potato wedges. These were piping hot, crisp, tasty and to die for. Bitter chocolate dessert was also beautifully presented. Extensive wine list. Very enjoyable lunch.More

Food was good. Staff were really really nice and accommodating. Service was excellent. Was a little disappointed by the food, expected a bit better, but it was by no means bad. We enjoyed the appetisers more than the mains. Great atmosphere too, really nice on...a sunny day.More

Went there for dinner with my wife and was really looking forward to getting spoilt. Arrived 5 mns before our dinner time and wanted to enjoy a pre dinner drinks on the veranda. We were seating outside and no one came to check on us...and take our order, the staff were doing candles and other stuff… isn’t the urgency is to look after guests first? Wanted to order a fresh fish plate to share with our drinks outside, but that was denied (no food outside but some photos suggest that you do serve outside). Food was well executed but a bit déjà vu (scallops, blood sausage, cauliflower) (lamb and burnt eggplant) fish main was good but the chorizo was too strong for a delicate fish; tart tatin was good but the cheese was probably the worst I have ever had (Brie was probably overdue, regular cheddar and an average blue). Can’t tell you where they were from, none of dishes were presented to us by the waitress. Overall ok but I have experienced much better especially for a 1 hat restaurant. I felt rushed as the table was needed but there was a lot of empty tables that night… why rush????More

We have eaten here are few times when we visit because the it’s a lovely setting amongst the vines, you can eat outside in the warmth and enjoy their wines and excellent food. For my, wife, that’s exactly the positive experience she had, choosing the...excellent lobster lasagna and cod garnished with a crayfish, accompanied by a lovely glass of semillon. However, my choice wasn’t as good. I too had the lobster which was good, but the main course of a rack of lamb was a disappointment. The lamb itself was lovely, with a charcoal taste, but not only was the presentation devoid of colour and perhaps appropriate for a cold winter, but the braised lamb shoulder stuffed into eggplant, didn’t work for me – why include such an inferior meat alongside the rack of lamb. It wasn’t worth the $10 supplement. Overall, it was an ok experience, but perhaps the raucous laughter of an adjoining hen lunch didn’t quite fit in with the normally highly positive experience.More

We regularly dined at Muse Kitchen but this time was a huge let down. Let’s hope it was just a bad day!

Went for the set 3 course menu on the weekend. We told the wait staff that we had another appointment in 2 ¼ hrs. We had to prompt the staff to get our food and ended up an hour late. So, lunch took 3 ¼...hrs. Overall the food was ok to good. I had the Line caught squid, bucatini, Jerusalem artichoke, smoked eel as an entree. All I could see, and taste was the pasta. My main was the beef fillet, pine mushroom ‘Dianne’, goose fat potato, radicchio ($10 supplement for shaved truffles). My steak was cold, but edible. The shaved truffles were a joke. A few very thin slivers later, and with no taste whatsoever; this was just a rip-off. A proper mushroom sauce would have been a much better proposition, but then again, not fine dining. I ended with the Chocolate & hazelnut parfait, coffee caramel, which was ok. Nothing fancy, and not fine dining at all. The wine is expensive, and I don’t see the value added that would justify their cost. The chef did surprise us with some appetisers. This is probably why the rest of the food was late. My wife dropped her napkin on the floor when visiting the restroom, and the waitress promptly picked it up, folded it and placed it back on the table. Surely, they know better? My dining guests had a better experience than me, but all in all, I think it was overpriced and underwhelming.More

Absolutely thrilled with the choice on the menu. A family member and myself decided yo have the 3 courses and share it so got to taste 6 dishes and I ordered a green salad extra. The service was phenomenal. Aaron was our wait person and...Kirsten( I hope that spelled correct ) was maître d. We had a sparkling Prosecco and moscato. Great selection of drinks. Breads and a treat to try from chef tasting plate spiced tuna in a tart shell and cheese gougeres. Plenty if time between courses. Then had cheese soufflé & squid entree. Next pork and beef cooked exquisitely perfect medium rare ❤️ blueberry velvet cake & baked Alaska. Highly recommend this place a very special meal. 5 stars.More

We are locals and eat out frequently. Muse kitchen was on our “to do” list before we relocate so we were looking forward to our dining experience. The service was great, the food not so much. My entree of kingfish sashimi was so smothered in...avocado that it over powered the whole dish. We ordered the beef fillet for mains which were served Luke warm and a little tough, although the jus was delicious. Dessert was disappointing, the blue velvet mascarpone cake had the oddest texture so much so that I couldn’t eat it. We left feeling very disappointed. There are far better venues to spend over $300 on lunch.More

Today was a family lunch, booked for 2:30pm but seated about 3:00pm. The menu was interesting, very creative and in some ways a vacation experience. Service, once we were seated, was quite good. The normal expectations of menu delivery and order taking were met. As...we all knew our drink requirements any discussion about the wine and beer menu was not required. The food was delivered promptly and in the expected condition. My favourite dish was the key lime pie/bombe Alaska. It was a truly inventive and true to taste combination of the two deserts. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nothing special. Nothing to criticise, but nothing to recommend. It was just a space to eat.More

This restaurant is in a lovely building and beautifully set up and decorated. Very good service with pleasant and helpful staff. I found the menu slightly limited in choice and some of the pairings of crab with a pork chop for instance I thought a...little unusual. I ended up choosing from the vegetarian menu and the the Chefs Halloumi cheese dish with Harissa was amazing. Then my BBQ Aubergine/eggplant dish was also excellent. Baked Alaska - key lime pie was a treat! I ended up eatMore

This is the first time we went for a meal at this restaurant. It is a bit pricey but you get value due to being able to order an entree, main and dessert excluding the sides. The food was delicious, I order the squid dish...for entree, the pork cutlet for the main which was delicious and generous in portions, but my favourite was the dessert which was the blueberry with blue velvet cake and mascarpone. I was surprised to find out it was vegan! Overall I highly recommend this place if you are in the Hunter Valley if you want to have a delicious meal.More
