Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very uninteresting, overpriced menu. Unfortunately it lacks imagination and there are so many better places to eat in the Hunter region. Skip this one!

Wine House was recommended to us by the guys from Gartelmann Wines. Very cool place where you can sample quite a number of local wines from small producers. There is $15 tasting fee which is not redeemable upon purchase, which is fair enough since this...is not a winery. We were taken care of by Adam, who was very knowledgeable and tasted more wines than the prescribed 8. Pricing for wines is very good, essentially the same as in other cellar doors we visited, but as I said you get to taste small local producers. Recommend Silkman Chardonnay to take home. We had no food there. Tasted at the counter, kids had a nice place in the room. No crowds.More

Felt like we were conned. Pleasant setting and lovely staff. After that, a very average experience. Paid $90 for 2 people for the ploughmans and 4 wine tastings. Were Handed notes and that was it. Ploughmans had some nice items but lacked texture, largely a...plate of mush and some way over seasoned olives. Felt a bit of a sausage factory experience and did not enhance our local knowledge. Not a great representation of the local talent. Stick to boutique cellar doors.More

After 4 days of tasting, little we knew we have left the best and tastier wine cellar visit for last, the Wine House showcase a series of very small boutique wineries that won’t disappoint anyone. The cellar ambiance is just perfect, the music and vibe...maximises the experience and complements the quality of the different varieties presented during the tasting. Gillian, who was in charge of the tasting, delivered an experience second to none. I can’t recommend enough to always include WINE HOUSE in your next trip to the Hunter and If you really want to make the trip even better, you must stop at the Kitchen for a grazing plate. SALUD!More

I couldn’t recommend this restaurant highly enough - we escaped 40 degree heat in January and the air conditioning was not only great, but we still had a lovely vineyard outlook from inside. The food was delicious - the olives were spot on, and coconut...prawn and pork belly hit the spot - and it was a very reasonable price point (a rarity among all the fine dining in the area!) 5 stars - a very well kept secret! (No idea why it’s so hard to find on the Hunter Valley Wine Center website page - we popped over there to do a wine tasting while our food was prepared - fantastic!)More

A friend recommend the really great bistro the is party of the boutique small wine makers centre. We had a great table on the outdoor deck and the food was very high quality for a casual family lunch. The menus was small but everyone in...our group of teens and adults was happy with their dish. Following the very successful lunch with great service we enjoyed wine tasting which the kids explore the grounds. We would definitely come back.More

This place was a phenomenal find. Sit and stare at the water in the modern and well air conditioned dining room and wait for the most delicious morsels to come to the table. Its a share plate menu with a selection of small and large...plates with a separate kids menu. We chose 2 small and 2 large plates for the 3 of us and couldn't finish it all. The food was delicious, fresh and plentiful. Being adjacent to the Wine House tasting room cellar door, the wine list was exceptional with many wines offered by the glass. The service was prompt, friendly and helpful with pointers in terms of menu selections and local news. This is what lazy lunches are made of. Will definitely be eating here again and encouraging all our friends who visit the Hunter to drop in and become fans.More

The lake is a bit of a stretch but the dam is very peaceful and quiet. A lovely spot. Platters to share were huge and varied and the salads were very fresh and delicious. Wine can be tasted at the adjoining cellar before you buy....Service was friendly and attentive. Most enjoyable.More
