Came here for lunch because of reviews. Enjoyed our meal and dining experience. After ordering we could get wine paired with our meal and that was very helpful and a good experience. The sommelier was very patient with us when we were tasting different ones. The meal servings are large and all food is cooked fresher and with quality ingredients. Enjoyed our Hunter Valley luncheon experience.

We were a group of 25 when we visited the restaurant, and we were all very impressed by the service, the food and the value for money. Even our members who have dietary needs, were treated so well. The atmosphere and the ambience of the venue is exceptional, and we were all very happy with the food and the wine.

Baume restaurant is an absolute must visit! All meals are designed to share wich transltes to very generous portions while also great value for money. We had the garlic prawns and the honey baked brie both meals were jaw droppingly delicious! The service we received from our waiter Ashton was absolutely first class very honest, knowledgeable and had us laughing which is always a great sign. We will definitely return on our next visit to the hunter.

Was recommended here by our place of accommodation. Big mistake by us to follow it. I felt like I was in a barn/food hall and not in a winery restaurant. The sparkling water came quickly with the menus and we then became invisible. We were not even asked what wine we would like which was odd because this was a winery! Finally after a good 20 minutes an efficious waiter took our order. A scant glass of wine was poured. Would have been lucky to be 100ml even though the man at the next table received twice as much. Our starter was a small pizza with tomato and bocconcini which was tasteless. I tried to find a wait person to get some salt and pepper but we were invisible so that never happened. When the table was cleared the next wait person asked if I had enjoyed it. I said “no.” He said “that’s good.” Great that he listened! Then came the linguini with prawns. This arrived with some sort of cheese grated on top. Seriously, a seafood pasta with cheese. YUC. I tried as best I could to scrape it off. Worse still the prawns had not been cleaned properly and retained their poo shoots. Really poor! We left most of our meal. When it came time to pay we were asked if we enjoyed our meal by another person who wasn’t listening. I said no we had not. Surprised, she asked why and when I pointed out the pasta with cheese problem she said it was on the menu. We checked together and there was no mention of cheese. She apologised with no remorse. I then mentioned the prawn cleaning issue and she took 10% off the bill. Big deal! Bad customer relations! Bad food! Bad service staff! Bad restaurant! Eat somewhere else

On a fair weather day sitting on an airy balcony it is a nice place to be. Food choices are pretty fair and prices not too bad. This is not a budget restaurant. Glass of wine starts at a fair price. We shared a prawn pasta and pork belly dish. Food was pretty good. If the chef reads this the pork belly dish ($45) had crackling that was not crunchy enough to cut or chew and the high point of this dish missed the mark. Cold apple sauce added to a warm dish didn't really hit the mark and chilli floating in the mix seemed unnecessary. It wasn't a bad dish but there is room to make it a great dish. Staff were generally attentive and helpful. A group without a booking showed up and they couldn't accomodate them and this was Tuesday (school hols) so consider a reservation if you go. Pretty good place overall.

This is a fantastic place with great staff.this place is continually booked out so reserve a table as soon as you get to the Hunter Valley Joe and the team are great and we chose the share plate of slow cooked lamb shoulder and it lived up to the hype. We also had this paired to the wine and it was a great experience Highly recommended and reasonably priced

What a brilliant idea, most items on the menu are to share. The sizes are more than enough for 2 people. We had the Garlic Prawns followed by the Lamb Shoulder. After the entree (4 large prawns each with tons of garlic juice and bread) there is no way we were going to finish the Lamb Shoulder). No problems, they offered and we took the leftovers home with us. Couldn't fault the place, food excellently prepared and served, prices very reasonable for this tourist place. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

We dined with another couple and so we shared the Slow braised Italian lamb shoulder marinated in garlic, cabernet, rosemary, served with jus and the Pan roasted Australian Barramundi fillet with lemon butter & tomato caper sauce. The meals were very tasty and plentiful and the service was excellent. They are also well regarded by the locals for their range of Pizza's, which we will try on our next visit.

A winery in the Hunter Valley NSW which has a restaurant, where the food, the wine was the best I have ever experienced. Sitting outside on a verandah under a trailing grape vine or inside on a Winters Day this place is worth a visit. The menu is unusual from pizza to grand pork belly with vegetables but the serving are for 2 people not one. I ordered the pork belly, with the crackling on top in a lovely sauce, the long green beans with pumpkin on skin was a fabulous combination too. But be prepared you will pay top dollars, but ask for a doggy bag and you can have it again the next day. We chose a great wine as well Pinot gris Hunter. I was in heaven. Be sure to book.

Taking advantage of the lessening restrictions after months of Covid-19 confinement, we decided to enjoy a drive out to the Hunter Valley for lunch with another couple of friends. The friendly waitress showed us to our table and explained that the meals were deliberately large for sharing which suited us. We chose three starters and two mains for the four of us. The Flat Bread was like a nice little mini pizza whilst the zucchini flowers and arancini balls were light and tasty. These were followed by the perfectly cooked Penne Bolognaise and the stunning eight-hour slow-cooked lamb shoulder. This latter dish with accompanying roast kipfler potatoes and side salad of Nashi pear, rocket and blue cheese, will stay in my memory forever.

We had a group of 10 so menu of 3 mains and 2 sides and time was fixed and a credit card no provided to secure the booking. We waited more than an hour for the mains to show up and while nice nothing to be too excited about. The meals only came after we asked multiple times and there was no apology or an y concern that the mains did not come out after an hour. We saw people around us arrive, eat and leave while we sat around waiting and waiting. Not sure I will return and definitely not in a group.

As advised by our waitress, the portions are designed to share and even the starters are quite generous. My wife and I ordered two starters and a salad. All dishes were very tasty and quantity was definitely large sizes. I think best to come as a group so you can try more plates. Their pizzas looked amazing.

One of our regular restaurants in Pokolbin, Hunter Valley, Baume offers a smallish menu, designed as share plates, with generous portions and good advice about what goes with what. On our lunchtime visit last week we enjoyed the arancini balls (there were six and we took two home with us) followed by pork belly with a side of roasted pumpkin. You can buy a bottle (cellar door prices) or a glass across a range of reds, white and sparkling. What I particularly like about this place, which has been restored out of the old Lindeman's Ben Ean facility, is the friendly and professional service. Good for couples, families, and groups up to ten. Highly recommended by this reviewer.

This restaurant comes up in TripA as #2 in Pokolbin which is fair if looking for warm family orientated (or larger group) restaurant with indeed very good & friendly service. But the menu is uninspiring as is the wine list. The food is good if, for example, you want pizza but there are far more exciting menus locally available (Cafe Enzo for lunch for example). So based on a weekend away meal for 2 lacking in the elements that that would enable a higher score.

We live on the Central Coast and have been making regular visits to Baumè for several years because we enjoy the food, relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. They have plenty of parking and have indoor and outdoor undercover seating. The beer selection is somewhat limited but the wine list is more comprehensive. It is a winery after all 😉 Our favourite dishes include lemon pepper calamari, creamy garlic prawns, slow cooked lamb shoulder, twice cooked pork belly, sweet potato & broccolini, burnt Basque cheesecake, affogato. The flat breads are tasty but leave room for mains and dessert 😋 The pizzas are huge and really need to be shared with 3 or 4 persons or you'll be taking some home! We don't order the pizza very often as we prefer to order an entree, main and dessert! The prices are mid-range but their sizing and quality make it good value. It can get a little noisy when larger groups are inside especially on weekends. Please bring back the Churros basket with icecream and chocolate sauce! Overall, we enjoy our trips to Baumè as it provides a consistently enjoyable dining experience.
