Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Looking for a lunch spot after doing the nearby shipwreck walk (well worth doing!) we stumbled across this brilliant little eatery. Very modern feel with eating on the street, excellent toasties and really good coffee. Highly recommended.

OMG the breakfast here was to die for. The flavours and presentation were beyond. I can’t emphasise how amazing this breakfast place is. I had the Autumn Rooms Hash. Please do yourself a favour and try. Great way to start the day x

Must try are the house made crumpets, back to being light and fluffy instead of the chia ones that were a special for a while. Todays light and fluffy crumpets were served with an amazing ginger lime and kiwi fruit curd. Simply magnificent!⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great food and customer service. We ordered food and coffee - coffee came than after a while one of the girls apologised for food being delayed due to problem in kitchen. Lucky we weren’t in a rush it came eventually and it was delicious. I’m...sure the hash is good too but we had to get going by then! But they did apologise and didn’t have us pay a bill - we hope to come again as who can ask for more!More

We dine here regularly and absolutely love it! The staff are always extremely attentive, helpful and welcoming. As for the food, it’s fantastic and never disappoints! What we love about the Autumn Rooms is the unique menu. Whilst still having many café faves like eggs...benny and toasted sandwiches, they’ve managed to put their own twist on them to ensure that they’re even better. Can’t recommend enough, even their sister store in Stockton is great. Only downfall with the Stockton café would be the seating- mostly bar stools and high tables which aren’t suitable for everyone incl. children, the elderly and disabled.More

Was a recommendation from the lady in the Newcastle information office and did not disappoint. We had sensational coffee, moist cardomon cake and a gorgeous salad poke bowl which were fresh, flavoursome and wholesome. A good lunch spot after a morning shopping in Darby Street.

We went there for brunch as part of our first visit to Newcastle. Lovely outdoor area. We ordered a dish on the specials menu - it was tasty. Staff were friendly too.

The service was nice, and the coffee was fine. The food looked great but the flavours were rather odd. The crumpet was stodgy and hard to finish. The eggs benedict was wrong, with a strong flavour of bacon and smoked BBQ flavour, with no hollandaise...flavour at all. We recommend you try somewhere else for breakfast.More

Good service and ambience but the food is excessively complicated and unbalanced - it's like it's made for instagram rather than for eating.

We had a breakfast in this restaurant on the weekend and we had to wait 15 minutes for the table and once we put our name down at the front door, we received a text promptly to advise our table was ready. We’ve been visiting...Newcastle frequently and had breakfast at various different cafes but this one we have to say was the best in all of Newcastle, the service was efficient the staff are really friendly. I had the Deluxe scrambled eggs which was on the special menu and I am so glad I had that. And the Chocolate Coconut Chai which was one of the best Chai I’ve ever had. My wife and the normal scrambled eggs with the sourdough toast with mushroom and it was delicious as well. The coffee was served at the right temperature not too cold as the day we went there was only 17 degrees so it was a cold weekend. We would definitely go back to The Autumn rooms on our next visit to Newcastle, I would like to thank all of the staff working there and keep up the good work.More
