Paymasters is a little haven, within walking distance of the hustle and bustle of the Newcastle CBD in NSW. Located on the Foreshore Park, overlooking the busy and picturesque Newcastle Harbour. Next door to Customs House, the heritage-listed building is on the site of the historic old Convict Lumber Yard. Paymasters Restaurant is one of Newcastle and the Hunter Valley's most delightful dining experiences. Paymasters is atmospheric, romantic and yet casual. Superb staff ensure a conscientious, personable and delightful dining experience. An essential first date restaurant, our pancakes are wonderful on a weekend morning. Come to Paymasters and experience Garlic Prawns like you will never taste

As a large group not one person was happy with their meal. Average to say the least, no taste, creativity and the overall consensus was disappointment. Come on Paymasters pick up your game.

It's been a while since we have been to Paymasters, for various reasons, but something about the online menu drew me back. To my delight, I discovered that Rodney has returned as Executive Chef, and has made Paymasters great again! The food was so delicious,...More

My friend and I had a lovely lunch and catch up. It was a very hot afternoon but with the doors open and fans, it was cool enough. We had the squid salad and vego gnocchi which were both delicious. As usual Randolf was on...More

Good food, average service- food arriving at seperate times and desert that completely didn’t arrive! The chef was a tad weird when he stood in front of everyone and went through the entire menu. Then told us to be in our seat when the food...More

We booked for brunch on a Saturday, as a farewell to interstate visitors heading home. The experience was underwhelming - a disappointment since we'd previously had nice meals here. Three of us ordered the $25 Big Breakfast (from a limited menu). It consisted of toast,...More
