A choice of 21 beers and a very good service. That place is perfect also to have a great lunch with lot of ambiance. Everybody must stop at the Grain

I made an online booking for a group of 14 for Sunday lunch. I love the setting and the restaurant is really well organised for a large group. Our table was great for conversation and mingling. The bistro-style set up made it easy for my...friends to order and pay for themselves when they were ready. The food options were varied and I enjoyed my pizza. Great place for a relaxed, casual vibe. Thank you!More
Dinner first night in East Newcastle. Great range of craft beers, neat menu and revolving offerings. Good customer service and atmosphere, returned for a few drinks on subsequent nights. Go and enjoy.
The building is really interesting, the food’s tasty, the service was fast and friendly. They have a great selection of games that kept us busy and entertained - checkers, chess, scrabble, connect 4, cards etc. It was a great place for a meal and some...family time with our teenagers.More
Great sized , Lovely meals , absolutely scrumptious. Friendly and accommodating staff Beautiful venue
'GS' is a great pub with over 20 craft beers from all over Australia. They let you mix and match with tasting paddles (lots of fun) or just order schooners (no pints). We dined here twice and tried their pizzas and burgers - all super...tasty. Staff were friendly and informative. Located close to the Newcastle Light Rail Terminus on Scott St./city. Will be back.More
We tasted hazy beers on a paddle. Great choice of independent breweries. Will be back next time and taste the PA/IPA range
Booked a table at this restaurant by chance after just walking past. Looked like a reasonable pub food type restaurant. Booking was very easy online, and our table was ready when we arrived a few minutes early. Was fairly noisy, but wasn't unexpected. The table...we had was a booth in a corner. Table layout was unusual, but plenty big enough for just 2 of us. Food turned up in reasonable time and was of good quality. I like spicy food, but my wife less so, so choose carefully, as the chicken wings were a little hot for her, but there were many options. We couldn't eat everything and they were very accommodating in providing a takeaway box for us. Enjoyable night.More
Great selection of beer, staff are great, and the food is excellent. However, you can't hear yourself think. Maybe I'm just too old!
Delicious and hot burgers and fries served by friendly staff, add in a glass of organic sauv-blanc and you have a perfect Thursday lunch.
The super-friendly staff welcomed a couple of 70yo blow in travelers last week to both sample the craft beer on tap and enjoy dinner. Wow, we couldn't have been more impressed. Great atmosphere, great beer and a wonderful menu. Both our meals were superb. I...even suggested that I should get an award for getting through my steak - it was so big. A real gem .. a touch of Newtown in Newcastle.More
What can I say? 21 beers on tap, all rotating frequently enough. A great tasting paddle where you can pick any beers to try (allowing you to have multiple paddles). The food is excellent and the servings are huge. You won't go hungry or thirsty.
Great atmosphere and beer, but the food has really gone down hill in recent years. Burgers are over cooked and dry. Most meals are lacking in fresh ingredients. Please add a little more salad and a little more love to your food and this good...pub will be great again.More
We turned up for a mid-week early dinner having walked past earlier in the day and been tempted by the menu on the wall outside. We were pleased with the interior and the extensive range of beers on tap covering both our faves, IPAs and...black beers. In addition, there is a large range of spirits and we tried a gin paddle in addition to the beer paddle. The food was simply fantastic and the staff great. We had onion rings, cheeseburger fries, steak and ribs, all pretty good but the fries could have fed an army and the ribs were exceptional. We are only in Newcastle for a week but will definitely be back for another visit. Note - just discovered they're closed on Monday!More
Sat down for a casual Sunday late lunch with good beer, fun music and great food. Game options are a great addition to get kids engaged. Love the wings.
