Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Overpriced for what it is. Family felt sick after eating. Meat in the burger was pink seemed undercooked. Thought it was just meant to be that way. Ate it, 6 hours later. Two of my family members really regretted it. May not have been the...meat, but cant think of many other reasons. Arrived cold from delivery. Not saying that is the restaurants fault - could have been the driver. But the food when cold tasted worse than cold fish and chips. In fact the chips produced by this place are just that, like bad quality, soggy fish takeaway shop chips. Not the nice, crispy, beer-battered chips you would expect for paying such exorbitant prices. The side of onion rings was a rip. A measly small number of thin rings with a bad batter not the robust crispy bread crumbed rings that I was expecting. They tasted bad cold too. The brisket is nice but the rub is really strong and overpowering. The pork is dry and nothing to write home about. The chicken meat has a good flavour but way too salty and covered in too much oil. The slaw is just cabbage and a tiny bit of apple. Bland and dry but good roughage / fibre which is needed to counter the meats. Super rich food in general. Rich business from super high prices. Not sure about hygiene standards with the undercooked burger paddies. Hence the poor rating. Lift your game guys. With price tags that those you really need to.More

I went to the one out the front of the great Rusty Penny brewery in Penrith but I assume they're all this good . The brisket was juicy and tasty (not the juiciest but up in the higher echelons) and the sausage was ok (very...cheesy) and the $30 box with 340g of meat plus two good sides is much better value than most BBQ places in Sydney (many will charge that much for 200g padded out with fries).More

Food was huge in servings, the meat perfectly cooked, and the mood was like being in a cook out! They also had a pecan pie from rustic sugar, took me straight back to my holiday In America 6yrs ago! Highly recommend!

Delicious burgers, great BBQ meats, and corn bread & chili are to die for if you get lucky and they are serving in the days you visit. They also make a killer pumpkin pie!

We had been recommended this place by two people and what can we say, we are not disappointed at all. We are leaving Newcastle today but we sure will feast again before our travels continue. Definitely a place for tender meat lovers. Not going into...more detail but a must do when in Newcastle. Enjoy, we certainly did.More

First of all I’d like to apologize for being too excited to eat my food, I forgot to take a picture. This place is great! They get 5-stars for the REAL fresh lemonade alone. I ordered the Big Tex and it was excellent - very...tasty, meat was perfect. I wish this crew all the success as it’s nice to have something like this available in Newcastle. I’ll be back for sure!More

Woooowwwwweeeeee that’s some good food!!! The Onion rings are amazing! Get some for yourself - don’t bother sharing, have anyone else your dining with get their own! I had the cheeseburger and it was fantastic!! I would have chosen it anyway but it was great...to see them donating a percentage of the sales of cheeseburgers to the RFS. Drove an hour with my husband and our 3 small children all under 5 and we all loved it! Definitely worth the drive. Great customer service and food. Loved it! Thanks guys.More

We enjoyed the ‘all you can eat’ platter for lunch on 27/12/19. We had ribs, brisket, chicken, pork, onion rings, fries, cheesy Mac, slaw and various dipping sauces. This was our 1st visit and certainly not our last! Loved the casual vibe of this place...and the artwork. Well worth a visit if in Newcastle.More

It is exceptional. If in Newcastle and you enjoy American BBQ you must put this at the top of your list. The brisket was incredible, as was the Mac n Cheese and fries. The only disappointment was not being able to try everything. Incredible!!

A group of four, we had a platter with 4meats and 3 sides. The meat was great and you choose your sides. Which were also delicious. The brisket and sausage was great. We also ordered a couple of cheeseburgers to share, which are out of...this world! And I couldn’t recommend high enough. Delicious and perfectly cooked patty, if I could eat them for the rest of my life I would. It is a nice outdoor setting, plenty of seats for small and large groups.More

First visit, I’ve been quite keen to eat here, so today it was, I had a cheeseburger $16, big thick pure beef very nice but a little overpriced $12 would be a fairer price as it has no accompaniment as in fries, But it was...Delicious. I also had 100grams of beef brisket & 100grams of pork both with a spicy bbq sauce, both were wonderful, but the brisket was a little better than the pork, all meats are $9 per 100grams. There is various combinations to choose from, this is a truly wonderful combination of meats & tastes, be warned though it’s not cheap.More

The masterminds behind Smokin Hot ’N Saucy are passionate, hardworking, magicians. The effort gone into smoking meat for hours on end did not go unnoticed. My first experience was last year, I ordered the Platter: one of everything to try and it was exactly what...I needed whilst I was nursing a terrible hangover. Perfectly cooked, flavour filled meat. This year, the fellas did not disappoint, The Carnivore burger was delicious! Layers of succulent meats, tastebuds in overdrive! Sure you can go elsewhere and order a burger with a meat patty but smoked meats took my culinary experience to another level. Don’t miss out, grab something off the menu, it’ll show you what true love is!More

This place has great food, expensive, but great. Added bonus is it has Uber Eats so you don't have to leave the house. Only problem is that they don't open for dinner every night!
