Stopped by Scotties for a very late lunch yesterday only half an hour before closing time , they were very accommodating and produced the most wonderful fresh fish & chips, the best flathead I've had for a very long time. Great food , great service , well done Scotties. You don't survive since 1950 unless you do a lot of... More

Dropped in on Easter Saturday, my first time at Scotties, Just had the fish and Chips, Great! Best I have had since Bouness in the Lakes District in England in 1993. Chips just the way I like them, thick and fleshy, real potato a tiny bit crisp. Get your self in there!!!

Had an excellent Barramundi and the best Calamari rings in the last couple of years... Not cheap but absolutely worth it.

The service was good.We were greeted and the menu specials explained to us.It had a nice and relaxed atmosphere. The meals were very good and it was good to see that they accomodate young kids with a kid's menu.

Looking for a place to have Fish & Chips in Newcastle, Scotties was a good find. The batter on the fish was light and fluffy and the chips were crisp and delightful. Prices were reasonable and had this very interesting Jamaican Lager

We visited this little Newcastle icon in July last year and had a wonderful dinner.. knowing how busy it gets we booked in to go back again to have what we hoped would be a great evening dinner. We preferred the menu on the take away so we're told to move to the grass area away from the table (which... More

We have been a couple of times before and have enjoyed the food, as well as the location. With the other half's brother stopping for a visit thought we would come back again for a takeaway. Busy night with locals an other visitors we ordered burgers as well as the fry up for two. Took a little will for our... More

We came straight off a nice day at the main beach at Newcastle and walked here for an early dinner. This is basically semi-deluxe fresh fish and chips, with an indoor and outdoor eating area, and a little parklet next door where you can spread a blanket and eat it take-away style. We got there pretty early (just before 6)... More

What is not to like about this cute, funky, busy and vibrant little restaurant come take away in Newcastle East. The roaring trade coming from the take away window in the side street producing perfectly cooked fish'n'chips, hamburgers and scallops to young couples and young families that then crank open a cold something or other in the little park adjacent...perfect!...
