My brother took my wife and I to lunch here during our stay in the Hunter, and I must say, it is an excellent restaurant in true Italian style. We started with a very lovely Tomato Bruschetta. For mains my wife savoured the veal ,...I had an excellent Pappardelle alla Siciliana, with freshly made pasta, while my brother had enjoyed Beef Carpaccio. All were fresh, very generous portions and very tasty. As we were driving we were limited to one glass of wine and they were stunning. Staff very efficient and professional and not overbearing. All in all a lovely experienceMore

I went here with my partner for a Saturday night dinner and it was fantastic. For starters, we had house-made focaccia with olive oil and balsamic. Absolutely delicious, simple but perfectly made. We then had a pasta dish each (boccaiola and pappardelle), the portions were...a good size and the paster was tender and delicious with great sauce. Our server Caitlin was very helpful and friendly, great customer service. If we’re out in Maitland, we’ll be back for sure.More

Serving staff excellent, food was very good. Prices were reasonable. Our issues were drinks took long time to arrive and it was so noisy inside it was crazy. Not sure if we were just unlucky with other people in the restaurant that felt the need...to shout at each other or just selfish loud mouthed people with no care for others space, or the interior acoustics are just terrible. It’s a shame, went as a couple for a date night, which is very tough to get, and was spoilt to the point we may not return.More

Whenever I miss Italy I come to this place and I can imagine I’m back in Florence. Staff seem knowledgeable about which wines to pair with the meal. The meals aren’t too expensive. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere.

This is the best place for fettuccine alla bolognese. I highly suggest getting garlic bread and dipping it in the bolognese. Great service.

A bit of a gem you might not think exists in a regional town. Service excellent. Meals were fresh and well presented. Great wine list being so close to wineries of the Hunter Valley. Street parking but a council carpark nearby. Nice use of an...old building with smaller more intimate dining areas near the rear.More

Dan, Nathan and the crew elevate the dining experience to a whole other level in the Valley. We have had the opportunity to dine at all the major renown restaurants in Pokolbin and the surrounds, and we would without hesitation put Fratelli Roma up against...any of those Pokolbin establishments. The level of excellence in terms of food, beverage and service in addition to the high levels of consistency place Fratelli Roma at the top of fine dining establishments in the Valley (as far as we're concerned). And NO, we are not family nor friends.More

The food was beyond excellence. Served in a decent size that surely is enough to savour the very delicate italian dish. The customer service is non comparable, very welcoming and polite. Kudos Fratelli, it was a very nice and memorable experience. It’s hard to not...come back here again. Great food and service!!!🤍❤️🤍More

Basically full from 5 to 10 pm on a Friday. There are enough staff and chefs to look after diners. Food very good and well presented. Well worth a visit. Next to a bar. Useful if your table is not ready.

I dined at Fratelli Roma twice last week – initially as a family of 4, and then later as a business group of 13 colleagues from around Australia. When we visited as a family, on a Tuesday night, we didn’t have a booking and the...restaurant was very busy, however the kind staff were able to fit us in, albeit telling us that they were very busy and service may be slower than normal. The service was excellent, the food delicious and the drinks list extensive. Between the 4 of us we had the Bistecca, the Duck risotto, Fettucine Bolognese and a kids pasta – with the Scallops special and some bread as a sharing starter. Everyone enjoyed their meals and it reinforced my decision to return here later in the week for a business meal. For the business meal, I ordered the Duck Risotto again, as I had enjoyed it so much. 3 of my colleagues also followed my recommendation and ordered the duck too. We shared a range of entrees / breads and also enjoyed dessert. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the ambience of the restaurant. A special mention must go to the servers – who always knew who was having what (even in the large group, where a few of us had moved seats during the meal). The staff were all excellent and represented this restaurant really well. Another great benefit of this restaurant is that they accept credit cards (Amex / Master / Visa ) without any surcharges, so the price on the menu is the price you pay, without having to bring cash. I look forward to eating here again when next in the area (and will probably order the Duck again..)More

Very good from the welcome. Service was attentive but not too much and very pleasant. Food was great, we both enjoyed our entree and main. Servings are a good size too. Wish I could have had dessert but was too full! Would visit again!
