Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Coffee good, staff good, food very ordinary. Burger cold, Poke dish boring. Art Gallery as lovely as ever.

Cafe’s proximity to art gallery and shop makes it a triple treat outing. Popular with all ages and parking at back of gallery makes it an easy destination. We shared a delicious vegetarian pasta. A delightful Maitland outing.

This cafe is situated in the Maitland Art Gallery. First time we have been here and would certainly go again when in Maitland. We both had the Warm smoked salon Poke. Very nice indeed. They have filtered water carafes. Staff were all very helpful and...well manured. Also had a vanilla slice made with sponge cake instead of puff pastry - was very nice.More

A very nice venue to enjoy a breakfast with friends. A limited menu that can be subjected to change. Enjoyed the live music that was provided. At times the service appears slow with people waiting for a table.

Very disappointed that service was so slow. Interminable. Coffe over 40 mins to come out and food much longer and not warm. Strange because not that busy. People friendly and food ok

The food and service here are really good (and super yum!). The only downside is it is quite expensive for a breakfast or lunch.

Visited with a group of ladies for our monthly luncheon & although the food was lovely it was a little overpriced & not I believe good value for money. I had the smashed avo on sourbread, with a latte which came to $26.50. However we...were all able to use our $25 Govt issued "Dine NSW" vouchers. I have visited this cafe twice now, so don't feel the need to return when there are so many other lovely cafe's in the vicinity to experience. I did enjoy wandering through the gallery after our luncheon however. Plenty of parking out the back too.More

Attached to the Regional Art Gallery, this is a great place for great food, friendly service and a stroll throughout the gallery. Clean, modern, great menu choices, friendly staff and reasonable prices.

My nephew had the open steak sandwich and milkshake. I had the pork terrine with pickled vegetables and chai tea. Both great.

I have been here several times and I have enjoyed every visit. The service is friendly and punctual. The venue is open and spacey. There is a small outside area. The thing I like the most is the innovative menu. There is always a small...but interesting array of dishes to choose from. My only criticism, and this is a criticism I lodge with many cafes, the cappuccino was not hot enough. I prefer the milk to be close on 70 degrees. I usually ask for a hotter cup, so much heat is lost when the coffee and milk is added to a cold cup. Oh pedantic me! Too bad I’m paying for it I want it how I like it. I highly recommend this place.More

One of the best cafes I have ever eaten in! The food was a standout! And the atmosphere is lovely as it's in an art gallery.

We were very pleased that our original cafe choice was too full as the staff there were unfriendly. Seraphine was a complete contrast with very friendly and accommodating staff. The air-conditioned room was most welcome, but there are also a few tables outside in the...garden. A good choice of small and larger plates with plenty of choice on the drinks front as well (the cafe is licensed). The Persian crepes were "to die for". The cafe is part of the Maitland Regional Art Gallery so allow some time for a browse of the gallery as well.More
