Best Coffee

After talking to locals where to find a good coffee they recommended Gold Fish Bowl. Once inside we could see why it was very popular, coffee and food was amazing. Always pays to talk to locals.

Coffee and Bread Run

Always service with a smile. The girls will even find you when you walk off to chat to friends. Never an issue, never a hassle and always worth the non-existant wait. Table service, a variety of meals and the best Friday night pizza nights you'll come across. I come from a family of people with allergies and the staff will bend over backwards to ensure I can always eat here at Goldfish Bowl Armidale.

Fabulous spot for breakfast

A friend and I visited the gold fish bowl for breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful and were very welcoming especially given the current circumstances. They were also very accommodating to specific dietary needs. I had a fabulous eggs Benedict. Also got some bread from their amazing bakery which I have been enjoying for the past few days.

Went for breakfast........

We went for breakfast but decided to just get take away coffee as it was a bit too busy and noisy. $5.30 for an alright coffee in my own keep cup!!! Bakery items did look amazing but we opted for Fresh@101 around the corner, more varied bfast menu, better value and a ‘responsible cafe’ policy of coffee discount if you byo cup. Less hipster, more real.

After reading great reviews, we were very disappointed.

The Goldfish Bowl was very busy when we arrived for breakfast, but even so, I felt there was no excuse for Eggs Benedict with hard-boiled eggs and totally charred bits of bacon. The wait-person got our coffee order wrong and my coffee was only luke-warm. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

It’s GOLD!!!!

Wow super fantastic everything! Lovely calm service, delicious coffee and divine pastries and bread. We had some sourdough fruit toast 3 slices which is so generous and it was delicious. The custard danish was divine. Rich and satisfying coffee too. PLEASE can you open a cafe in Port Macquarie???!!!!

Taste - Smell - Variety - TICK X3

We were taken back as soon as we walked in, the smell of the bakery from the wood fire over was amazing. The variety for breakfast from large meals to pastries was excellent. We had a couple of croissant and Portuguese tarts and they were delicious. What topped it off for us was that we be bought a couple of their fresh loaves of bread and they were perfect. Tasty, fresh and just 100% awesome

We returned here yesterday for lunch having fond memories of one of the best lunch pizza experiences three odd years previously. Sadly we discovered that Pizzas are not available Monday to Thursday and it was a Tuesday. So we selected from a lunch menu of only 5 items, of which two only were gluten free, the slow cooked lamb shanks and the cauliflower soup if you ignored the toasted garlic bread accompaniment. As I don’t eat much in the way of red meats, I went for the cauliflower soup without the garlic bread. Sadly my soup had to be sent back as it was only luke warm whilst my partners tomato soup and grilled sandwich were steaming hot. But I was more than happy with my soup when it was redelivered. I would go back again for sure although the options for gluten free are very limited.

Trendy venue with surprising quality

From the outside it doesn't look much but we had a great egg and bacon breakfast with fresh baked sour dough and excellent coffee. Everything is baked fresh on premisses with great patisserie and fresh bread selection... staff were very friendly and helpful . Left with a delicious fruit loaf...

Great coffee, food service OK

The coffee is very good here. If you are just looking for a good coffee, this is definitely the place. But I also ordered a breakfast at 11 but was told that the dish was not available as the kitchen had closed. That is fine, but don't advertise breakfast as available until 1230 when the kitchen closes at 11...

The Place to Go!

We made a brilliant discovery in Armidale for breakfast! This fantastic place is only small and you may have to wait for a table, don't despair, the wait if worth it. With the smell of fresh bread baking and coffee wafting in the air, creating a great atmosphere. The service is outstanding, prompt & friendly and the food is great. All the boxes are ticket here!

Got some pizzas, as we'd heard such good things. They were only okay. The prawn pizza only had about 3, very tiny, prawns scattered across it. It was more or less a margarita, which was annoying seeing as it cost more due to the prawns. Overall, very meh and we probably won't go back.

The Best Croissant!

We have been searching for fluffy and crispy croissants everywhere in Sydney... yet we found it in Armidale! We actually had the almond croissants... different from the ‘usual’ almond croissant, the Goldfish Bowl’s is not too sweet, the croissant is very light and fluffy with almonds on top and filled with light custard inside. It was divine!!! The cafe itself is quite small. We suggested you to grab a take away and eat their lovely treats at many parks nearby. Just remember to dispose the trash properly. We’ll be back!

After waiting 30 mins she said “very high quality food takes time”

Seated and order taken promptly. Waited and told as the title . When the food came , a lukewarm pre cooked bruschetta of “local” mushrooms and a risotto. Insisted it be cooked again and well , Good food is worth the wait . This was neither good or worth the wait . Snippy and Pretentious . Uncomfortable 🥵. Such a shame , insincere apologies and , well , save your money , there is much better service and food around .

The Place To Be

This place was so popular so be prepared to wait for a table if you come at their peak times in the morning and also time for food/coffee to get to you. It has a nice rustic feel and 'Sydney' vibe. A popular cafe in Armidale. Had some breakfast and coffee - enjoyed just watching people watching as it was interesting.
