Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited here at lunchtime to buy takeaway for the evening meal as we had been visiting Albury for day surgery and wanted something easy to prep after the long drive back home that night.
Enquired with another Indian other end of street about doing this but they didn’t want to cook anymore meals despite being still open for lunch with customers still in dining. Their loss!
Our gain, as I ordered our dinner from Indian Tandoori. Staff here were friendly and helpful.
Back home that night we were pleasantly surprised with a delicious meal.
We ordered vegetable samosas, chicken jalfrezi, lamb rogan josh, basmati rice and some garlic naan bread.
Everything was full of delicious flavours, Samosas really tasty, bread yum, the meats in the mains lovely and tender.
Servings were all a good size, we even had enough for some lunch the next day, to enjoy it all again. Even the 2 dipping sauces were lovely.
Will definitely recommend here and try and order some again to take home when we are next visiting Albury.

Stopped here for dinner last night, we were greeted warmly and the menu was suitable for anyone. We ordered the tandoori prawns, their signature dish of Butter Chicken and Yellow Dahl. My husband said the Butter Chicken was the best he’d ever had, all the dishes very tasty.

This restaurant is continually exceptional. I have still not had better Indian cuisine to this day and I’ve been coming here for over a decade. The real highlight, however, is the service and the people. Tonight I came to pick up some takeaway and have a drink while I waited. The drink came with complimentary pappadums and THE BEST mint chutney you could imagine. I also mentioned mow much I missed their chocolate mousse and the lovely server just threw one in for free for me! I had a rough day and this was the kind of pick me up and kindness that just made me happy. Thank you guys xxx

I ordered Samosas as a starter, sweet Lassi and Mumbai Prawns Medium spicy with Plain Nan bread. First, the Lassi, thick as sour cream, and not much mango, hard to get it through the straw. There was a pompadum that looked overcooked in too cold oil in the fryer and sauce that tasted like it came out of a bottle. The Samosas came promptly afterwards, lukewarm. I had never had samosas with a crust that was more like shortbread. The filling was tasteless. I've had samosas from many, many restaurants and as street food. This ranks among the bottom ones. Then I waited for a long time for the Mumbai prawns and Nan bread. 1) The nan bread tasted bland, like they had forgotten the salt and the ghee, and again blackened as the oven must have been a bit too cold and been in the oven too long to get it finished. 2) The Mumbai Prawns tasted like the sauce had come from a tin, no spice at all and no taste of coconut as advertised. I picked out the prawns and tried, but could not get it down. The Waiter was very helpful, and returned to the kitchen and promised a new serve. However, that took so long that I just gave up, went over it, and asked how much I owed them. I must say that after reading positive reviews of this place, I wonder what has happened in the kitchen.

After visiting Waggas restaurant which is exceptional and who's original owner began Alburys, I was very disappointed coming to Alburys Indian tandoori restaurant, as a small girl was running around playing waitress and had her mother allowing it. The food came out fast and was tender and tasty but the portions were extreemly small 2 mains barely enough for one person. The Kashmir rice was gluggy and overcooked and the price was quite expensive considering the size average main $22-25. Going out with my partner was supposed to be romantic and intimate and kind of special it was a little let down and will not return...

Have dined here often over the last 8 years when in town and left positive reviews accordingly.
Tonight I had the Beef Vindaloo which I requested as usual Indian hot plus extra hot, they must have thought I said extra salt as it was the saltiest non-spicy vindaloo I have ever tasted, any heat was drowned by salt, no sweet taste combined with the sour taste of vinegar just salt. To top it off the Garlic Naan was sprinkled with garlic salt as well!! The prices have also snuck up which is understandable but $65 odd dollars for one main. one naan. one serve of Samosas and 2 beers is getting up there, no issue if its quality. Anyway I won't wipe them as normally meals are good and tasteful. Maybe its changed hands as normally there has been a delightful young Indian lady there for years running the show but there was no sign of her this time.

Was at the restaurant on Sunday (21/08/2022) for lunch. Could not fault the food or the service. Have been frequenting this restaurant for about 15 years mainly shuttling between Canberra and Melbourne. Simply love the food.
The owners Manraj and Nazia have always gone above and beyond in making sure we and all others have a memorable experience.
Above all, excellent valuer for money.

This is the most terrible place i have ever been. I found out the price tag in my food whilst eating and when i complained about it she grabbed that price tag with her hand which extremely disappointed me . I wouldn’t recommend to anyone about this place due to this behaviour.

Dined here friday night as a party of 3. We ordered the Maharaja banquet which was about $33 per person. Great value and the food was fantastic. The restaurant itself is well decorated and the tables are very well set. Food came out hot every time and was delicious. Indian crackers with 4 dipping sauces first, then 3 yummy entrees, 4 tasty mains, rice and 2 varieties of beautiful breads too. Then a dessert as well. Staff were all very friendly, welcoming and professional. We normally dine at an Indian restaurant in Wodonga but this will be our go to from now on.

Must say it wasn’t the best beef korma it was extremely chewy and the saffron rice lacked colour ,butter chicken was hard so over cooked we just could not eat it , in fact we threw most of it out waste of $81.00 mango drinks were a great size and was very good . Sorry would not go back

We went to this restaurant a day before Easter. The Staff was friendly and fairly efficient. The food was not that great as we thought after seeing the reviews. The food lacked Indian flavours and seemed bland. The fish tikka was overcooked and the butter chicken was not very tasty. The portion size was small compared to the price. The wait time was fairly long for an averagely cooked dinner. Overall we had an average dinner experience at Indian Tandoori.

This is only our 2nd visit to this restaurant and we have to say that we were very pleased with the service and the really delicious food. We had the chicken Briyani and Prawn masala. Both dishes were full of flavours. Thanks! We’ll be back again. Keep up the good work.

The staff were really good, prompt and extremely friendly. The menu had a lot of good choices which made it hard to chose what to have. The drinks service which normally suffers in most place was absent here. The food was delicious

Overall a fairly enjoyable dinner experience. Fabric chairs look dirty and stained - not enticing to sit on. Food was mostly good: rice and naan tasty; veggie curry good; fish curry good but too salty with heaps of onion and not much fish; and tandoori chicken was disappointing - tasted odd and salty with a mushy texture. Staff friendly and fairly efficient.
