First established in 1996, The World Bar of today is now the ultimate spot for après, the best beer garden in town, hearty mains, the best burgers in Queenstown, teapot cocktails, craft beer (11 on tap alone) and all sorts of community events and night time shindiggery. This is truly the locals spot in Queenstown with the sunniest beer garden and all weather options if the weather turns a bit nasty. Great little spot we stopped in for lunch while walking around downtown. It’s conveniently located near all the shopping and Queenstown Beach. We were a party of 4 that was promptly seated upon our arrival. People had the fish tacos, the vegan world burger, Korean Chicken burger, and the grilled chicken burger. Everyone’s meal was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful and staff was attentive and friendly. Couldn’t ask for much more from a dining establishment on a busy weekend!

Great place to relax and have an afternoon drink and food, esp outside mealtimes (when many restaurants in Queenstown are closing for lunch or resetting for dinner service). Staff are very chill and friendly, and happy to chit chat and share recommendations with foreign visitors. Would be happy to stop by again anytime!

Went for drinks and dinner with some friends and had the best experience! We were looked after amazingly by Aoife who recommended the most scrumptious cocktails and fish tacos I have ever eaten in my entire life I think I ascended when I tried them. Will definitely be coming back ASAP!!!!!!!!!!

A great spot for dinner, great vibes, great food. Came here with the family while travelling and would definitely recommend. A big thank you to our waitress Maya who made our visit exceptional, she even shared some travelling recommendations which we have been using. 10/10!!

Good fresh food, good service & plenty of choice. Our server (Hattie) was very friendly & made sure we had everything we needed & suggested deep fried cheesecake! Excellent recommendation.

We have been here twice and had great meals both times. Our waitress Ursula was great! When they have live music it really adds to the vibe. Would recommend the smash burger, Korean fried chicken burger, and the pulled pork tacos - they’re out of this world lmao.

We popped in on a rainy day for lunch and wished we’d have stood out in the rain to be honest. Poor and incredibly slow service and really bad overcooked food. I’m gobsmacked the chef thinks it’s ok to send out food like mine was today. Sent back… they admitted they pre cook all the chips and then reheat them… I had a bowl of dark brown frazzled chips and burned chicken burger, that we had waited 50 minutes for… and it wasn’t even busy in there. why not do a decent job?! Kids food was all ok but nothing special. Our starter garlic bread came out after all our mains..!

Fun atmosphere and good service but the food is terrible. No options that aren’t fried or greasy and even that was pretty awful. Overcooked fish and chips, greasy pork tacos, dried out nachos, and linden fish tacos.

If I could give World Bar more than 5 stars, I’d throw in the whole galaxy! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a TEA-rific night—because where else can you sip cocktails from a teapot and feel this fancy? The vibe? Electric. The music? Absolute bangers. The staff? Friendlier than anywhere else in town. Whether you’re tearing up the dance floor, munching on next-level nachos, or just soaking up the legendary Queenstown energy, World Bar is THE place to be. Trust me, one visit and you’ll be steeped in good times!

We came with a group booking of 34 (30 Yr 13 Students and 4 teachers). Despite the many odd requests/ dietary requirements - the meals came out super fast and were sooooo yummy! Everyone was really happy with their meal and there was not much waiting for the ones who got their meal towards the end.
We got a great deal, and the staff were extremely friendly, accommodating of our group size. We walked away full and VERY CONTENT! Thank you for the great service and being supportive of our school group! We had a wonderful time!

Perfect for a late family lunch! Visited with my family after a busy morning- food was fab and came super quickly. Our server (Maya) was really friendly and gave great recommendations- the kids loved their burger!!

After a few hours bar hoping around Queenstown we were on the hunt for a quick meal option. The menu provided plenty of choices. Could not fault the smashed burger tacos, the poutine or cauliflower bites that we shared - fantastic portion sizes. The Tinder and Kindling Teapot was a delicious addition to our meal

Fantastic cocktails ~ recommended by Aoife 🙌🏼🍸🥃 the food is a great burger, nacho, wings type of food place. The crew are fantastic, worked so hard on a busy night. Everyone was working hard so did came quick, tables cleared quick, drinks constantly so we weren’t waiting. Met Chris Hemsworth cousin/brother (haha) but Aoife made our night.. she was recommending what to try on the menu, cocktails and making sure we had everything. Thanks for a great night! Highly recommend if you’re in Queenstown and enjoy burgers, nachos, wings.. cocktails & a fantastic crew. Aoife made our night a memorable catch up for our last night in QT ❄️ 🍹🍔

The place was a great vibe. Live music and it was funky. Busy fun pub style. Drinks and service was fine from the bar. Kitchen was bad. They brought all our meals separately and 10mins apart. Kids meals which we asked for first came out dead last. They did apologise but it wasn’t great. Perhaps just a busy night. Food was nice and meals were big when we got them. Hamburger patties were burnt to a crisp so if you like it charcoal, go for it.
