Delicious food, excellent service and a great position with expansive views of the mountains and lake. My new favourite restaurant in Queenstown...

Good nourishing tasty food plates for sharing with a wide variety of meat and fish dishes, and delicious desserts. Some of our group were dairy free and/or gluten free, so we ordered only those dishes (desserts not DF) and we all had a feast!

Everything we tried at Public was delicious. Portions are small and prices are high, but not too high. Service & delivery was a bit spotty and slow, but everyone was friendly and helpful. We appreciated the help because the menu is large and unusual so we needed explanations & recommendations.

After exploring Queenstown in the morning, we decided to stop for some lunch. A lot of places were busy in town (Marathon Weekend), so we opted for the Public Kitchen & Bar on the Wharf. When we arrived there was only 1 table outside taken, so we were not sure if we'd done the correct thing. However within 30 minutes,... More

Easily the best place we visited in Queenstown. Service is excellent with friendly staff in a relaxed environment with a great selection of bar snacks or more formal dining. All with great views out to the lake. All the meat dishes we had were extremely well cooked. The drinks selections were surprisingly good and we topped off our meal with... More

This restaurant starts with passing through a London phone booth at the entry. We had no problems with reservations in spite of it being marathon weekend. Food was quite good, unlike many restaurants with great views.

Another place recommended to us, despite the slightly odd name! This has a nice location with views over the quay, lake and mountains. As portions are fairly generous, the menu encourages you to share both starters and mains. We had two starters, a main and a salad which was plenty of food for two. The drinks list is pretty good... Sophisticated dining on the wharf - recommend booking to get the best tables but if you're not fussed, they try their best to accommodate walk-ins. Great menu for sharing, decent wine list too

Had dinner here and enjoyed a lovely evening. At first there was an issue about where we could sit, but once that was resolved everything went smoothly. (We had reservations). The cuisine was local with distance to farms listed on the menu. I had venison, my wife had lamb, both very nice. Felt a bit traitorous drinking an Australian red,... More

We really enjoyed this casual water front restaurant. Our favorite menu item was the lamb stew-it alone is worth a return trip. Also great fries and pork schnitzel. A nice selection of beer added to the positive experience.
