My family and I came here in winter 2015 and loved everything about it (well the decor is not great but food and service were totally outstanding). I don't know what happened this time, can only guess new owners because the food wasn't a patch on the previous year - this time both presentation and flavour of our meals would... More

This restaurant relies on amazing, fresh seafood. The meals are great because of the natural ingredients. Service is average. The biggest downfall is preparation - oysters shucked poorly so lots of bits of shell, mussels haven't had the beard removed. It is pretty good food but definitely wouldn't get a hat by Australian standards.

We loved the laid back attitude of the staff - all very friendly and happy to chat with a good understanding of the menu and the wine list too The space itself is weird with the kitchen at the front which you walk past and then a long thin set of banquettes opening to a small space at the back... We tend to avoid NZ green lipped mussels at home ; they've just come too far. Ok, Queenstown is maybe as far away as you can get from the sea here but we chose them and the wife was a happy bunny. I had the orange roughy,a new fish for me and it was well cooked tho not especially exciting.... More

We were in Queenstown 6 years ago & made the return trip to go to dinner here. It's nice to see somethings don't change. The green mussels are to die for!! So is the blue cod. The decor has been updated however the quality of the food need no improvements. We may go back tonight!!

We were recommended the restaurant by the Hotel. The restaurant is nautically decorated (look closely at the wallpaper) with a daily menu. We had the Beef & Reef with grass fed & char-grilled eye fillet with Chatham Island scampi, roasted garlic butter and hand cut chips and have to say it is the best eye fillet I have ever had.... Had an early dinner with friends and we had the calamari to start which very well cooked and tasty with sauce followed by founder and the blue cod fish and chips. Fish was all very fresh and tasty. Service was good and the staff were attentive.

Made to feel welcome on arrival, our server was very good, however the seafood soup was disappointing and the groper ordinary. It's very expensive for what you get. Fine dining prices for mid range food.

Wanted to enjoy a fish meal since arriving in NZ, this town maybe inland but the seafood could not have been fresher. Calamari starter that literally melted in your mouth, green lipped muscles and seafood soup for mains did not disappoint. However they could improve on their hot chips. Maybe thicker? Enjoyed a local wine. Staff where friendly but not... More

Very slow service! Very overpriced, mediocre food. Fish and chips were greasy and the worst chips ever. Seafood soup didn't contain all listed items on menu. Server attempted to fix the above with a free dessert. Very apologetic when bringing bill. Would not recommend. Nice ambience.
