Nice little Thai place in central Queenstown. Extremely long wait for someone to take our order and another long wait for the food to be served. Portion sizes were a bit lacking for the price and more pork could've been added to the dish however the food was tasty and left us wanting more. Worth the long wait experienced? I'd say probably not though. Queenstown is inherently more expensive for most things so that may be a contributing factor to the pricing as well as the lack of people due to COVID so I understand that they need to recoup the lost revenue. If the slow service was addressed and the sizing of the meals accurately reflected the pricing then this place has the potential to be 5 star.

Although this restaurant is upstairs and not easily noticed, it is well worth the effort to have a meal there as it is not your usual basic Thai food. A shared entree of Pork Moneybags was moreish and was filled with tasty shredded pork, mains consisted of Drunken RiceNoodles with Chicken and Crispy Pork Belly with lovely crisp green veges in a yellow bean sauce and a small side of Fried Rice. All were delicious and different. Although this is slightly more pricey than most Thai eateries, portion sizes were generous and the restaurant is spacious and comfortable, so we thought it was worth it. We couldn’t eat everything we were so full, plus the complimentary house made Fortune Cookies were so delicious, we bought a boxful to take back to the hotel.

We ate here twice during our time in Queenstown. The Pad Thai was delicious and the price was only $15.00 NZ. For those of you who are familiar with Queenstown you know that food prices can be quite high. My Thai Lounge is small but the food is very good. We recommend My Thai Lounge while in Queenstown.

We were excited about eating here at My Thai however we found the staff very abrupt taking our order. We ordered the large dishes only to be served two extremely small dishes. Extremely disappointing evening indeed.

The food was NOT good. Only bad meal we had in NZ....to the point we had to pay to eat somewhere else!! Pad Thai was made with angel hair pasta noodles and flavor was definitely off!! The sauce tasted like it was half Marinara sauce 😬😬. We eat Thai AT LEAST 2-3 times a month and this was NOT Authentic Thai. Tom Kha Gai soup was average at best! The chicken in it was chewy. I would NOT recommend this place.

Dear KAL4, I am sorry to hear that you had such a disappointing dining experience. I would like to point out that our restaurant, due to the Coronavirus crisis, has not been open for business since 23 March 2020 (and remains closed until further notice) so we would not have served you a meal recently. We also do not use angel hair noodles (or vermicelli) in our Phad Thai, as you have noted this is strange and not the norm. You can see from other traveller photos of our Phad Thai that this is the case. Our Phad Thai is also one of our most praised dishes and local's favourite. I would respectfully suggest that your review is for another restaurant. We have worked very hard to build our reputation as a quality provider of modern Thai food and will continue to do so in future. Your review hurts our business and even an honest mistake has consequences.

We made an advance booking for here so we had a table with a view. That was all good and worked well. Service was a little average and a little slow as well and we had to ask for the menu Food was okay and did the job and was fresh but maybe a little small serving

I was not feeling too hungry so just had one of the 'small plates' which was reasonably priced. The chicken and cashew nuts came with rice and vegetables - not the best I have tasted, but still good. The waitress was very friendly and the service was quick. A comfortable and friendly place with stunning decor, and located very close to the pier in Queenstown.

I came here for lunch and had a few of the small plate share options. The coconut rice is to die for and the deep fried cauliflower was excellent. The best part was the Thai roti with chicken curry - i could taste every ingredient! Wow! The service was great to - very quick, attentive and always with a big smile. Cant wait to come back!

Grab a seat by the window with the view of the harbour, settle back and enjoy the tasty, carefully presented food in very pleasant surroundings. While the food was traditionally prepared it was enlivened by street food influences. We enjoyed the sticky pork wontons and other starters, and the Pad Thai (mostly for the 9 year-old) was one of the best ever tasted, but the highlight was the beef mussaman. It was succulent, having been slow cooked in peanut Mussaman curry with pumpkin. It comes with Thai roti, so if you're having that as a main, don't bother with the roti for a side. It was so good we're researching recipes to try to recreate it.

We had a great takeaway experience with My Thai Lounge. The food was superb and al excellent portion sizes. The cost was fair and reasonable working out to be approx $30 per adult (we were a group of 4). The highlight was the green curry and pad see ew - amazing. Highly recommend, very good food! Couldn’t fault it.

Stopped for a quick lunch. We were not disappointed. The location was amazing with views out over the water from our table. I tried something different being the Soft Shell Crab and my wife and the Tofu & Cashew with lots of vegetables and rice. It took sometime to decide as the menu had some great choices including some lunch specials that were cheaper the the dinner menu.

Great Thai food in a nice location. Family of five all enjoyed the dishes. Wonderful view and people watching. Cocktail was lovely but took to long to come. The rest of the service was spot on. We enjoyed all dishes, highlights were the noddles for the kids, lamb and chicken curries for the adults. We enjoyed all the starters particularly the pork wontons.

If there is a better Thai restaurant in the South Island, I would like to know it! Mai Thai shines out like a beacon in the mediocre restaurant fare that Queenstown generally offers to tourists. Dishes that had fantastic flavour included a "scrambled" curry of soft shell crab, jungle goat curry and chicken larb. The amazing food was complemented by subtle and attentive service and by a relaxed atmosphere with a wide open view of Lake Wakitipu. We had a mix of age-groups and all loved it. Prices were incredibly reasonable. Can't wait to go back!

We stayed in Queenstown for five days, and we selected My Thai Lounge for one of our dinners during the week. The restaurant has a great ambiance with the windows wide open, seating, decor, and views of the lake and mall area. The starters that we tasted included the spring rolls and the Thai fried chicken. Both were delicious. The chicken has small bites of thigh and leg meat. It is served with a tamarind sauce and sweet and sour dipping sauce. The entrees are a good size portion, so we elected to share the beer battered chicken stir fry. There is a large beer and drink selection. We were impressed by the friendly, professional service.

This place was amazing - such friendly staff, service was great. The views were outstanding! The food was phenomenal; fresh, zingy, the best fresh rice paper rolls I have ever had and the sauce was exceptional. We will be back - can't wait.
