Can not rate Rata highly enough. Very relaxed atmosphere, staff were friendly and down to earth. Clearly an upmarket restaurant but did not feel stuffy at all. And the food! We had four courses as suggested by our lovely waitress and it was just right....I would recommend the lamb loin in particular - incredibly tender and well seasoned. Also the preserved apricots- just a perfect combination of flavours. There is really no criticism for any of the dishes. Would definitely dine here again. It’s not cheap- two people, four courses with drinks each course = $278. But was worth EVERY penny. Situated in the town centre but in a quiet spot. Loved it!!!More

We went here for tea for our combined birthdays. The food was absolutely delicious especially the shared lamb - melt in your mouth. The service was excellent and friendly. It was a very down to earth experience. Definitely come back again.

Exceptional evening start to finish. Friendly and attentive service when needed. Music and lighting just right. Food was everything we hoped for. Shared goats cheese profiteroles bite, followed up with Bluff octopus, full of flavour and texture and perfect amount of bite. Our mains were...the lamb and beef and both dishes were cooked to perfection with tasty accompaniments followed by desserts that were delicious. We both agreed that Rātā was the perfect dining experience during our stay in Queenstown.More

We been there couple times during 2018-2019 and we are really like the beef Wellington here, then we booked a table 2 months ago when we planning visit queenstown again, but when we arrived we have been told they don't serve beef Wellington anymore since 2019,we feel...quite disappointed because we are come in for the beef! Anyway we still ordered 4 start and 2 main, the male waiter told us it not enough for us and trying to make us to order more…you do feel been pushed and he looks not happy when we said we wouldn't order alcohol…after we finished the start (it's took half hour to arrive) we decided to leave, also been told can't do take away,so we paid and left without eating the main…and yes we paid extra 15% surcharge as well… which means we paid near $200 and eat nothing…you can come if your budget is$100 ppl, otherwise you will get a xxxx faceMore

No unfortunately. Wine is by the glass though, as well as by the bottle.
