We were just blown away by how good this Mexican food was...in New Zealand! Having od'd on New Zealand fare for nearly 2 weeks, we were ready for a culinary change for lunch. We stumbled across Coyote Grill walking around Queenstown and gave it a try...and so glad we did. Food was authentic but with a Kiwi flavor twist.

We previously had Chuy's of the US as our favorite, but the chicken fajitas were fantastic (well seasoned and quality meat unlike the lower-quality chicken found in most US fajitas) and my vegetarian wife had Coyote Grill as her favorite and just as we did with Bombay Palace for me we went back twice for her vegetarian quesadilla (Grilled garlic,... I had the fajitas. I don't know what sauce the meat was cooked in, but it tasted really bad. The wine was terrible. They have no wifi. Service wasn't friendly. Food is insanely overpriced for the quality. Go to Caribe Kitchen instead!!!!!

Apparently the kitchen thinks everything is improved by drowning it in bland cheese. Not true. Anyone who has raved about this place being "authentic" has never been to Mexico, Texas, or California. This is about as authentic as my socks! Ordered a pair of enchiladas. They came smothered in cheese to the point where I couldn't tell the chicken from... More

During a recent trip to Queenstown we had a mexican meal sitting upstairs at the windows overlooking the park and harbour. There was a good range of menu items available, I had the Fajita's and my wife had the Taco's both meals were great. The view from the top section is great and creates a good atmosphere to enjoy your... More

Been here several times over the years. Always had a good meal with decent portions - Fajitas are great. Beer selection great as well - sometimes tempted by IPA imported from Mexico that I can't pick up elsewhere. Well worth a visit.

My wife and I visited for an early dinner and decided on the $20 special of chicken fajitas. These were the worst examples of fajitas we've ever tasted. How difficult is it to get hold of fresh limes and decent quality spices in NZ? Answer, it isn't. The restaurant doesn't appear to have attempted sourcing these vital ingredients as the... More
