We drove to Lyttelton and on the way back saw the turn off to the Gondola which we took. The gondola ride gives great views of the surrounding areas. The viewing area at the top is great but if there is a cool breeze make sure you wear something warm. Drop in for a tea or coffee in the cafe.... More

A nice holiday destination, a lovely place to visit the views are fantastic. There's an educational short ride at the top worth doing. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Lunch is very affordable.

Sunny Sunday swooning up the slopes of Christchurch port hill, the girls 6 and 8 loved every minute of it.

We visited with four grandchildren aged 7 -9 years and enjoyed a date scone served with the trimmings, generous servings of tasty chips and well presented hot chocolates. The comfortable leather couches were very comfortable and we all enjoyed the gondola ride . I recommend this as an excellent outing. with children

It was a great experience because of the concept of getting into the top, a restaurant and a gift shop then you can have a scenic view of the valley.

My mother had her 80th birthday party, an afternoon tea, at the restaurant. As well as my cousin having a surprise wedding. The staff were really accommodating and so helpful both prior to the day and on the day. Nothing was any trouble. Both the savory and sweet finger food was great and as we had requested. The views are... More

Great food and good food despite being quite busy we did not have to wait long. We expected the food to be over priced but was pleasantly surprised to find food reasonably priced.

I took my 6 year old granddaughter on the gondola in the school holidays, kids were free. The extra attraction at the top was excellent and they didn't charge any extra to visit, the gift shop was really reasonably priced and the cafe was great, the views over Christchurch are stunning
