Mostly full of men; you can almost taste the testosterone at times. A very old fashioned type of pub with poor decor and furniture. Plastic and uncomfortable. I was staying nearby for 2 weeks so unfortunately this was the only close alternative for food and...More

We haven’t been here for a while so popped in for some brunch a couple of weeks ago. It was a lovely sunny day so we chose an outside table. I had the mushrooms on toast, and he had the very good $20 deal which...More

Had beers and a feed here on the first night and then the last night of our biking ( motor) of NZ. Great beers, big servings and friendly staff. It was a short walk to our motel and we really enjoyed it.

Friends in town and went to the pub for tea! The normal Friday night pub visit turned to Thursday due to it being Easter weekend. The pub as always was busy which is good to see! The staff as always quick to the pump, the...More

Sunday night, St Patricks Day extension (it seems). What better than a pint of Guinness and Irish Stew? Both very tasty. The roast pork was good too, I'm told. Casual place but friendly service. It would make a great local but nice to visit too.

We had pork belly (was nice but dry and stringy, vegetables were ok). Seafood chowder was nice and quite enough as a meal eventhough it was listed under 'light meals'. Service was great, beer great.

Lovely welcome and a great atmosphere with good selection of both food, beers and wine. All at very reasonable prices and would certainly recommend.

The staff here were very friendly and the first night we had drinks only here. We asked about breakfast but they don’t start serving until 12! The second night we decided to eat here and the food was reasonable, nothing exciting but cheap.

We went for an early dinner with friends. Bailies had a Saturday special - burger & a pint or glass of wine - $20. It's been a long time since we have had such nice burgers & fries. I would really recommend you give them...More

Open for lunch, dinner and brunch, our menu is well priced to appeals to a broad range of people, young and young at heart, locals and tourists, families, kiwis and international visitors.Bailies Bar & Restaurant originally operated out of the Cathedral Square Warners precinct for nearly 30 years and was a favourite destination for thousands of loyal locals, visiting tourists and guests of honour.Sadly after being damaged in the February 2011 earthquake, both the Warners Hotel and Bailies Bar & Restaurant was demolished in November 2011.
