Mistakenly we forgot to book for lunch on Mothers Day! After visiting two other restaurants with no luck of a table we drove past the Speights Ale House Ferrymead. The bar and restaurant was packed but luckily the staff squeezed us in, the wait staff were very helpful & friendly. The owner even came over and gifted us Mothers at... More

Stopped for lunch and was given great service. Choice of menu was good. Had the blue cod battered. Great meal with excellent value. If you want a quick feed that is good value then try them. Wait staff where pleasant. The rest of party has lamb meatballs. Thai beef salad and beef burger. All happy. Thanks.

We met family here for dinner and were pleased with the atmosphere and food. Both were very good and we all had a lovely meal

So where do I start the 20 minutes I was waiting for a drink when the restaurant and bar was empty , or the fact that my daughters fish and chips came out with pepper all over it .

We booked a large group meal - the service was very slack. We had to keep going up to the bar or flag down a staff member for service. A drink was spilt on one of the party and whilst it was replaced there was little fuss and no deduction for the drink etc. The meal was pretty tasteless. We... More

Out to Lunch is about right, arrived at this establishment for lunch with wife and mom. Walked in place was relatively quiet got shown to table and it went downhill from there. Waited 15 minutes b4 we were asked if we would like a drink, finally got these and then ordered food, waited half hour before having to ask where... More

We have had one good meal at this restaurant before but yesterday 28th Dec, the food was inedible I ordered seafood chowder and my son a lamb shank. He did eat his but I could not eat mine Very little seafood in a porridge like chowder with three cold muscles in shells sitting on top. The very nice waitress did... More

Terrible experience on Boxing Day. Being the only spot in the area open we had limited choices for dinner. Went here with a modest view for the food. Previous visits to the Bealey Ave ale house were fairly good. On Boxing Day we experienced bland food across the board and incorrect orders. A vegetarian was given a beef pasta. Two... More

We've had good meals here before, but the meal we had yesterday was really sub-par. We both ordered Drunk Steak medium-rare Medium-rare, but it was cooked almost well done, without a hint of pinkness. The accompanying salad was nothing more than a handful of salad greens in a bowl with no other vegetables, and no dressing at all. The chips... More

This is our second visit to Ferry Ale house and we weren't disappointed a second time - food consistent both times - had Blue Cod and salad - fish fresh moist and large portions. Service excellent with lovely waitress.
