Really great selection of sandwiches, soups, and salads. Excellent coffees and baked goods too for a quick afternoon stop. Lovely outdoor patio. Would recommend.

Little River is an ideal stopping place between Christchurch and Akaroa. The cafe offers a good range of light meals and salds as well as sweet treats.

Good selection of cabinet food for a fairly fast meal if you require. Nice setting both indoors and outside. Popular and worth a stop on your way to Akaroa. Just under an hour from Christchurch Airport, and about 30 minutes from Akaroa.

Cute cafe on the way to/from Akaroa. The coffee here was some of the best we've ever had. Nice space with a lovely courtyard outside. There is also a gift/art shop next door which supports local New Zealand made products/artists.

Often understandably busy, this cafe with attached arts and crafts shop, is an ideal stop on the road to Akaroa. Good range of food and vegetarians and coeliacs are catered for. Helpful staff. On sunny days there is plenty of seating outside. Often a queue for the toilets. It's right beside the fascinating and restored Railway Station that even has... More

Little River is a welcome stop on the way to Akaora from the Christchurch area. The drive along the two land highway is beautiful, with rolling hills, grazing sheep and cattle and senic views. After about an hour of driving, a stop is most welcome. Great ice cream, a variety of hot and cold drinks and lots of choices of... More

It is a cute cafe giving a feel of old-time with adequate service and freshly made food. Good portions for our main dishes and flavorful carrot cake. Nice place to stop while on the segment of the road Christchurch-Akaroa.

Rod out on our motorbike and arrived around 10. A few people around but our coffee took no time at all. My partner is a coffee snob and for the 1st time ever he got a 2nd coffee straight after the 1st. He said it's the best coffee he had had in a long time. I had the choc walnut... More

A country store / cafe doesn't need to be this expensive, they know they are a tourist trap and prey on it. Food has no vibrance to it, it tasted old (which is expected from a cafe). The carrot cake was dry. The chicken filo had an ok taste, but the pasty was dry and tasteless. The birds flying around... More
