I went to Lola rouge to catch up with my family and I have to say the experience was great 😊 lovely service they kept the jokes coming and made sure we were well looked after the food was amazing my Nans partner tried the vegan chicken and enjoyed it and he is a hard man to convince to try food that’s not meat. My family shared all the food we ordered and it was enough for us all we thoroughly enjoyed the ika karage, we ordered another plate and it was gone in seconds. The drinks were amazing had to try the cocktails and mocktails. Definitely bring my family back there for food.

Amazing experience

We went to Lola Rouge for the first time to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. The service and atmosphere was lovely the entire time. One of the staff asked us if we were celebrating and we told her yes so she arranged a beautiful little complimentary desert for us. Would definitely go back.

Great food, excellent in-house service, poor online commincation

Was staying at Naumi Hotel for our trip to World of Wearable Arts, as we were a big group, we decided to book into Lola Rouge for our meal before the show as it was in the same hotel. I had completed an online booking form a good 4 weeks before our trip but heard nothing back, I rang a few weeks before to confirm and finally managed to reach someone, who advised they could see my booking, and someone would contact me about our menu. 3 menu choices were offered from $65pp - $120pp. I advised I would check with my group before confirming. We enjoyed a fantastic meal on the night, the server was excellent and very attentive. The group was most surprised when we came to pay that we had been charged for the $120pp set menu. Although in reflection the food selection and amount was well worth this amount, we had not agreed on this menu (or any menu infact). The person I had emailed with had made an assumption about our choices based on my enquiries and had neglected to confirm our final choice. This left a sour taste in our mouths and emptier wallets! I followed up with the Restuarant manager in person the next day, but had to rush for a flight, so followed up again the following day by email asking for an explanation and compensation of some sort. It took over 4 weeks and multiple emails and a phone call to resolve this. when I finally reached someone, it was a new manager who dealt with the issue promptly and efficiently. Overall we loved our stay and our meal. The only complaint was the horrendous lack of communication which resulted in a hefty restaurant bill for our group.

Probably wouldn't go back

Beautifully decorated and well styled. Staff were TOO attentive. As in every few minutes our conversation was interrupted by staff asking if we were ok or if they could take plates away (that still had food on them!!!) We felt very rushed to be pushed out of the restaurant. Food was ok. Nothing to write home about. Cost for what we received wasn't great. Didn't leave feeling satisfied with the food or the service. Pestering of the staff left us with an icky feeling as we were leaving.

Fantastic spot for group dining!

I went with a group of 10 friends. We had a set menu which was reasonably priced, had lots of options and they happily catered for dietary requirements. The service was great, the food was delicious and we had a wonderful evening. You could also hear each other talk clearly, there wasn’t a lot of background noise. It really was a great spot for group dining!

Beautiful F&B - but missing attention to detail

We had high tea yesterday at Lola Rouge. Having visited the hotel before I was excited to try their high tea. On arrival we were seated at a cramped little table on a very dirty rug that clearly had not been vacuumed that morning - not a great start. The lady who looked after us was not amazing (sorry) and didn't do a great job to explain what was going on or what to expect. When the food came out she did not explain what each little item was (a standard practise with high teas) - our tea cups were dirty - oh and the menus were grubby with dirty finger marks all over them. On the upside the food was delicious and the cocktails magnificent, so great job to the kitchen and bar! But the wait staff need some serious training and the attention to detail is lacking and the lack of cleanliness was yuk. We still had a great time but probably wouldn't go back again. I know it's a hard time for hospo but there are still the basics that need to be right.

Underwhelming and tiny portions for price

In a nutshell: underwhelming, very small portions for price, average service but outstanding cocktails and great atmosphere. In more detail: Booked months in advance for a significant birthday celebration with family. This was based on menu seen online and recommendation from friends but on arrival we found the menu and style of eating had changed, the day before our booking but we were not informed. We ordered recommended number of plates for our group and were told would be portioned appropriately but all 6 of us left very hungry and went to a local food court for a second dinner. Given the price, this was extremely disappointing. Flavours were nice but did find the menu descriptions did not match the dishes. The group favourite was general tsos chicken. The absolute standout were the drinks!! Both cocktails and mocktails were outstanding. Lovely atmosphere.

Flavours of Asia!!!

Friends recommend so booked for my family. Restaurant was fully booked when we arrived. Lucky had pre booked. Started with small plates Dumpling, vegan chicken (tried first time) & fried squid all full of flavours. The lamb steak was the highlight perfectly seasoned and cooked to our perfection. Not many Asian restaurants have lamb served as per preference. Prawn curry & fried rice perfect flavours. Sorry will come back for desserts when next in town.

A Hidden Treasure

Naumi bar and restaurant provide sophisticated and elegant dining experiences at reasonable prices - the surroundings are fun and exotic. The food is delicious and generous servings. Cocktails original and tasty. A great night out in a gorgeous atmosphere.

Quirky and fun

We absolutely loved our high tea experience at this quriky, fabulous location, it felt like you had been transported to another world with so much colour and style. We couldnt stop taking photos! The food was the perfect size little morsels even the scones. Great choice of 27 teas, you can smell first and the cocktaiks delicious. Lovely service too, the girls who looked after us were so sweet. Definitely recommend 👌

Visual n sensory deliciousness

Full of colour a beautiful Sensory pleasure Alone the atmosphere was stunning then the amasing high tea knowledgable staff before the food or tea arrived. Not often am I in a place that ticks all the boxes but this high tea experience does. Then the food ....I cannot rate highly enough. Flavor presentation all over deliciousness you will be impressed

Everything was perfect for my long overdue catch up with friends...made more special with deliciousness presented in a unique way with 3 tiers of treats and a good explanation by the delightful server. The eclectic stunning decor sets the scene for a memorable experience. Lola Rouge needs to be on your to do list while in Wellington.

Terrible Service

I had a really bad experience at Lola Rogue. When I got there, it was quiet with about three waitresses around. They took our order for four dishes but only one came. We waited 20 more minutes for two more dishes. Just as we were about to eat, another waitress took our food away saying this isn’t for you with no apology or explanation. We ended up sitting for half an hour with just one dish. Eventually, three more dishes arrived, but our drinks didn't. We asked twice, and they finally came 40 minutes after we sat down. The drinks were great, but the food was not. While serving the drinks, a waitress put the drinks down and handed us a dirty plate to hold. The portions are tiny for the price you pay and we didn’t really know what we were eating because no one explained. No one checked on us, and we didn't get any water topped up. We had to go look for water ourselves. When we left, no one asked how the food was, and we couldn't find any staff to give feedback to. We just paid the bill and left. The service was terrible, and the food took forever to come. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Great choice

A lovely entrance from Cuba street into a theme of bright colours and beautiful flowers. Great bar with good service and fun looking cocktails. The restaurant staff were friendly and professional. The menu is Asian based and the items are designed to share. The food was full of flavour, beautifully presented and delicious. We booked for 6 pm and were told when booking that we had to leave by 8 pm and this was adequate time to enjoy a relaxed dinner.

Luxury with Indulgence

Lip-smacking food with flamboyant ambiance. The place oozes out style and class with a great variety of drinks and Asian fusion food. Special thanks to Chef & his team for an amazing tandoori platter. Loved "Mekong Delta" tequila cocktail. All in all a very rich dining experience.
