Fidels is a funky cafe in Cuba St in Wellington. They cater for everyone. My wife has coeliac disease and nothing was a problem. Not only was the coffee magnificent, but all the food we had from hotcakes to bacon and eggs was magnificently cooked and flavoursome. If you are after a good hearty breakfast in a slightly grungy (... More

We made a beeline to Cuba Street on our first night in Wellington. There was a night food market which was so tempting but we pushed on to Fidel's. Glad we did. Good food, welcoming, friendly staff. We set up camp at the picnic table outside and watched the passing parade. We ate the food, drank the wine and bought the... More

Had the caesar salad here followed by a Date scone. The date scones are defiantly the best I have had and I have had a few. The thing with them is that they are traditional with a little bit sugar on top. Coffee not bad either

Once again, really busy establishment with well-chosen staff, perfect coffee and scrumptious food, such a satisfying place for breakfast, brunch or lunch.

I love this place although I always go later in the morning as the service can be very long if you go during peak hours. The big breakfast is worth it and very fulfilling, they even let you swap things you don't want, tomato for spinach is my choice. I prefer sitting at the front rather than outside, much more... It's a bustling popular place and a bit hipster so that can result in slightly less attentive service but the food is always great and if you want a buzzy vibe, Fidels can pretty much always provide it.

Have been twice and both times my brunch meals were amazing! The cabinet food looks delicious too! Wait times not very long either.

Worst experience ever. Went to Fidel's for the first time with a friend for lunch on a Saturday. There was a bit of a wait for a table, which was fine - we didn't have to wait long before we were seated inside anyway and it gave us a chance to read the menu. I wasn't keen on a big... More

Really great food, service and value for money. Pizza and The Cubano were top notch as was the cheesecake. Lovely authentic atmosphere.
