We went here, having booked, for an afternoon tea walking from the Amora hotel. First bit of advice, this is much further than we thought! Clearly this is the New Zealand idea of a traditional afternoon tea, complete with mis-matched cups saucers and plates. A charming experience but not very filling, even fro those with small appetites. The nasturtium sandwiches... More

This is a really feminine place, @ the top of Cuba street in Wellington. Pink striped walls, flowers, wall mirrors, fancy China etc: the high tea is great! Tasty morsels, a great range of teas ( I had the masala chai). Highly recommended. Great helpful staff. Not a big place, so I'm guessing it would be wise to book a... More

I have visited Martha's Pantry quite a few times over the years, and I have to agree with the recent reviewer who commented that it is not as good as it used to be. I have only continued to choose Martha's Pantry because of the limited number of places in Wellington currently offering high tea, but won't be doing so... More

OK - I haven't been for six months, but I love high tea here. The decor is so sweet, and the food so delicate and delicious. Perhaps not the best value for money, but an extra special treat.

It was the birthday girls choice and I do love a high tea and I hadn't had one at Martha's for a couple of years so was really looking forward to this but I was disappointed. There is a wide selection of tea to choose from. The afternoon tea is delivered on a tiered plate. None of the food is... More

Just passing on the way to the War Memorial and couldn't resist popping in to this quaint little cafe. All bone china teacups and mugs, tasty looking sweets & cakes. Coffee was excellent. A change down from the usual buzz, like popping over to Grandma's!

I took my 10 year old son for his first high tea experience. I booked ahead for an adult and child high tea however I later found out when I came to pay, that we were given food for two adults. Not having been there before I assumed the booking confirmed what I thought we were getting. We were asked... More

Eight of us came in for High Tea (we had booked in advance) and it was perfect. One of our party has severe allergies, and these were handled superbly with a follow up phonecall to our organiser to confirm our booking and the details of the allergies. Wonderful setting, gorgeous food, attentive staff and a lovely cuppa tea.

We had a lovely high tea here. Great selection of teas. Quite a small quaint cafe with limited parking. Cute tables and chairs and sweet tea sets. The high tea was pretty good. Good selection of savoury and sweet. Our friend with gluten free was well catered for. Very enjoyable.

I have been here a few times over the years but not for a while. It is charming and old school vintage. After we were shown to our table and had been seated for over 10 minutes with no one taking our tea order we had to ask if we could be attended to, as we had an appointment to... More
