Stayed at the boulcott suites across the Rd and this place had charge back so we ate most nights here. Tried all sorts on the menu, very yummy but sometimes the potion sizes were inconsistent. They had a menu change while we were here and the duck was amazing. Love the cheesy garlic bread too. The bar staff upstairs are... More

Stumbled across the GP while a day trip to Wellington, very friendly staff on. Good selection of pub meals for lunch time. I had the fish and chips and it was good!! Great portion size for the price too!! Great drinks selection too.

I first visited here in 2015, and was really excited for a return visit. As is the norm menus have changed, but this seems to have moved from a gastropub with some impressive and high quality food, to pretty basic, stock standard pub fare, without invention, flare and lacking in quality. Whilst my chicken parmigana was decent enough, was a... More

On ordering drinks the bar man made a drink and put ice in the glass with his hand guiding the ice in he then put lemon in the drink and a straw with his grubby hands. I know I should have said something but to many people around. Same bar man gave us the wrong bottle of wine, they did... More

The GP is starting to get a bit tatty, but it's not trying to be anything other than what it is. The lunch dishes are good value at $20, and were nicely done and very tasty - it's good pub grub. The fish and chips were very good, being hot and properly fried without excess oil - but please GP,... More

This restaurant / bar gets busy - you probably need a reservation for dinner. Eating in this wonderful old historic building is a real treat. It is historic both inside and out. We had a group with a set menu - all of the meal choices looked very nice and everyone seemed to enjoy the food. My plate was very... More

The bar was close to our hotel and we had a drink there several evenings after a busy day sightseeing. Good location, friendly staff and obviously very popular with workers after they have finished work.

Everything was great: the building, the room for our large group(17 adults), the staff, the food. The courses to the meal were very slow. And the quality of the meal in taste and freshness was lacking. For example, the fries in most of Australia were SO good. The fries, again in Australia, were prepared properly namely twice fried for a... More

We met friends here for dinner, and had a wonderful meal in pleasant surroundings. Not too noisy, and the service was quick, friendly and efficient.
