We found this place while searching for a place to have lunch. From the outside the restaurant does not make a big impression and it looks like hundreds of other asian restaurants. As soon as you are inside you realize it is a special place. The walls are uniquely painted and decorated. The service was very friendly but a little... More

Busy simple restaurant in the heart of the city. Many choices of food and well informed staff eg gluten free. Very popular with locals and visitors so you may have to share a table but it adds to the fun. The service is not fast as the meals are freshly prepared and well worth waiting for.

Super cheap ($10-15) for mains, and big portions! After all my visits I've settled on Nasi Lemak with soya slice and potato. Their deep fried dishes are too heavy and fatty, so avoid these if you're after healthy, light food. Their mock meats are spot on, so if you're a meat eater and want to try out vegan food -... More

We were pleasantly surprised and the food was really yummy. We had the vegan/gf version of the Laska, tom yum soup, and the Chow Mee of which was delicious!

Only 1 person in our group of four was vegetarian. Three of us really enjoyed our meal, the fourth felt that a better choice in dishes could have been made (seems the vermicelli wasn't the best dish). There were two groups in front of us waiting for a table - having a queue was a positive reinforcement that we had... More

What a fantastic lunch my wife and I had at Aunty Mena's. We are both vegetarian and loved the simple atmosphere as well as our meals. Food came out quickly, and staff were very polite and friendly. Would highly recommend.

My bf and I had spring rolls and two different dishes and everything was delicious. I would eat vegetarian all the time if it was this delicious 😋 the restaurant itself is kind of like a cafe but great for lunch.

I ordered the chicken laksa and malacca pudding. The laksa was SO yum! It tasted like the real deal but better and I'm a regular laksa eater. The pudding, wow! Amazing. They need to franchise a place like this in Sydney, that's the only place I'll miss in Wellington. Definitely a hidden gem.

I've been going to Aunty Menas for years, it's always delicious, the servings are generous and staff are super friendly. The Spring Rolls are the best - even meat eaters love them. Everything is Vegan - even the Roti which is amazing. They do takeaway too!

The food was good, not amazing but good. Worst tea I've had in my life, it tasted like dirty warm water. We were most disturbed by the 4 crying babies. The restaurant was full and we had to share a table with strangers. Chairs had no backrest so was a little uncomfortable. When we went to pay they said we... More
