This must be the best spot in Rotorua. Unfortunately, the owners have let it turn into a rundown dump occupying what could be a truly great space. The entrance is terrible with paint peeling off the fences and rubbish accumulating. Huge number of wine bottles discarded in the gardens around the carpark. The tar seal is seriously potholed. The restaurant... More

The view is to die for which give you the opportunity to view the whole rotorua and the lake. The restaurant is purely cater for tourist and only minimum choice available but the scones and muffins taste good. Overall nice view but bad service. Not planning for any revisit.

Beautiful view. Recommend to book the center table next to the window for the best seats and view. The food was below average. Limited options and small portions for the price you are paying. We were still hungry after having drinks, lunch and desert. I would not go back to this restaurant again.

Arriving to Aorangi Peak Restaurant at 210pm their sign said meals until 3pm. Went in and was told only blueberry muffin/scone or garlic bread. So ordered blueberry muffin$4.50 and hot chocolate $4.50. Hot choc came out first, nothing special then the muffin about 8min later... muffin was bland few blueberries in it, was very disappointed. Left half of it there... More

My Girlfriend asked for "Rare" Lamb for her main, what she received was borderline raw lamb seared on one side served on a cold plate with no stir fried lamb shoulder, chewy "bacon" and unseasoned veg and practically raw veg. We asked for it to be cooked again and it came back looking exactly the same. I ordered the beef... More

Aorangi Peak has a great view. I was looking forward to this and a great lunch for my birthday. Unfortunately this venue has seen better days. Don't trust the advertising, this place is tired and while the food tasted great the venue is tired and rundown.

We arrived in high spirits and left in shock. Starting with raw prawns and shop bought mayonnaise (lacking the advertised wasabi) on 3 lettuce cups for the entree $22, and microwaved duck confit out of a tin. Then beef for main - our choice of rare and medium rare given to the wrong person - with a cream sauce lacking... More

Years ago a superb fine dining experience. Now more like glorified pub food The menu is striped to its bare minimum. With reasonable looking prices, but the portions are matched. The taste however is excellent. The whole place looks run down and tired. Needs some life pumped back in to it with good do-over.

After deciding to splurge out on a nice dinner date, we chose one of our very first date spots, Aorangi Peak. The first time we were there, we had a full tour of the cellar and had amazing service. Chairs pulled back, etc etc. The second time, it had completely changed. Waited 5 minutes to be seated at the front... More
