We were in Rotorua for one night and stayed in the nearby Regal Palms hotel. After not being able to find any restaurants in the vicinity we came here for dinner and then breakfast. The buffet was satisfactory and the dessert was excellent. Service was also very good; our waiter was very friendly and gave us some great advice for... More

The buffet was not worth the money or the time to eat it. The food was bland, overlooked in some instances, and just badly cooked in the case of the 'roast potatoes'. Service was extremely slow. Would of been better off going to a fast food restaurant.

We really enjoyed our meal. It was hot, it was tasteful and there was a good selection. Our puku's were full and it was not over priced! The staff were friendly and quick to clear the plates. Thank you all.

First visit forced to eat from dinner buffet, what an absolute disappointment, poor presentation, cold food, unappetising food. Couple with poor service, what a poor show for a tourist destination. Being asked if I wanted a drink while at the buffet, and then failing to check when I took a seat resulted in no drink. A second visit due to... More

Setting is nice, however the food was an absolute let down! The choices on buffet were very limited and what was offered was overcooked and bland. Nothing was labeled to know what it was you're eating. The service was haphazard, our dirty plates weren't collected throughout the sitting. Very disappointing and will not be recommending to family and friends.

Jimmy Cook''s is a landmark. It's famous for real Kiwi kai, that is, New Zealand food. Jimmy Cook.s is part of the Copthorne Hotel in Rotorua. It serves hearty Kiwi comfort food. The restaurant is named after Captain James Cook RN, who literally put New Zealand on the map.

Jimmy Cook's Kiwi Kitchen is good Kiwi kai -- New Zealand food, in others words. It's a buffet with the usual buffet offerings. To be truthful, the selection was a trifle dull. These days, patrons want more from a buffet than just pig out. The service was a bit haphazard. If I was writing a school report I would say... More

The restaurant setting within the Copthorne Hotel was pleasant with a nice quiet mood. The range of food was representative of a good buffet with a reasonable selection that would cover most people's tastes. The food was kept continually refreshed. The staff were friendly, however we were never approached by anyone to offer drinks, despite their only being three tables... More
