What an amazing venue. We loved the decor and setting on the Marina. The Seafood chowder is delicious and the service was friendly and prompt. Lots of people enjoying a night out and I can see why the Whale is so popular. Thankyou and we will be back.

The restaurant opened early so that patrons could watch the All Blacks versus Ireland rugby game.. The breakfast was excellent and the staff cheery despite the AB's loss. We took a break and returned to the pub in the evening. The same staff and same happy faces. A nice place to spend some time plus excellent service

Party of 6 Adults for a family catch-up over dinner. Menu looks good - had the steak which was melt-in-the-mouth - nice! Other meals around the table looked great too - especially the Pork Belly. Music a bit loud over conversation - not sure if they turned it down or we got used to shouting and sign language over the... More

Really pleasant experience. Our waitress Nicole was very attentive and helpful. Our meals were overall very good. One thing I would suggest was a little more seasoning as some things did lack in salt. A common theme in Napier it seems. But all in all a really nice night.

Jann and I are keen seafood buffs and were delighted to experience seafood without too much batter and a salad as opposed to chips. First time with abalone which was unique. Thank you Amy for your friendly chat and service.

Dined on the upper floor gazing at the picturesque sunset. We would have preferred to sit outside but it was a cold November night - but this turned out to be good fortune for us as we were served by Sylvie. Despite climbing up and down the stairs numerous times, she was always with a warm smile and professional service.... More

Had a table on the first floor by the open window. Beautiful evening sun and a delicious meals, consisting of the pork ribs and fish of the day. Enjoyed the house Pino Gris too. Good service and a delightful setting.

Sitting outside as the sun dropped on a blazing hot day, nursing a lager, was very pleasant. And so was my New Zealand burger (with egg and beetroot) and my companion's chicken burger. Well executed versions of old favourites. Recommended
