Been coming here as our regular meeting spot for a while now. Really love it. Great coffee- which is essential. Large range of cabinet food options including some amazing salads. They cater well for all dietary requirements across their menu too. Staff are extremely friendly...and really add to the vibe here. Well worth checking out.More

Great food and coffee, reasonably priced. It has friendly staff and great service. Casual, quirky decor, and it has an outdoor seating area also. The business 'lives' its values too, being a social enterprise, hence the name "Ethos." I just wish I could go more...often, but unfortunately (for me) it is only open during the week, so I can only go when I'm on holiday.More

We discovered this place upon recommendation by friends and decided to come by for brunch one morning. What a lovely quaint cafe. Very family friendly with lots of spaces for young children to play outdoors. There is a choice of outdoor or indoor seating. Very...artsy atmosphere with art works on display for sale. Very healthy food options available from the cabinet or their menu specials. Loved the coffee and ice chocolate. Friendly service. We'll be back.More

Ethos was quite a find on our recent visit to Kirikiriroa (Hamilton). The place has a lot of character and several different spaces, punctuated by some interesting and attention-grabbing artwork. Outdoor tables in a garden courtyard setting took our fancy - perfect for breakfast on...a summer’s morning. We had checked the menu online but unfortunately it didn’t coincide with the breakfast menu on the day we visited. Having decided that we wanted to try the pancakes and the mushrooms on toast, it was disappointing to find that neither of these options was available. Essentially the menu was a limited range of cooked breakfast options - all four of us settled with the big breakfast option. These proved to be quality, fresh ingredients cooked well. If a cooked breakfast is your thing, this is a great place to head. A highlight for me was the selection of attractive and varied souvenir teaspoons - I appreciate that kind of character. Add to this great service from a professional team of staff, along with an appreciation of te Reo Māori, and you have a place well worth a visit. Ka mau te wehi!More

I can't say enough good things about this social enterprise. You can feel the warmth and hospitality when you walk in. The interesting / quirky decor is a talking point and the wood burner is a toasty bonus for winter. They have a tasty selection...of fresh items in their cabinet (sweet and savoury) plus a good selection on the menu. I appreciate that they have dedicated low carb and keto options (not just the usual token offering of "exclude the bread and that makes it keto"). I ordered a jumbo veggie wrap, side salad and pot of tea for lunch - all for about $22 (it was a few weeks ago and I can't exactly remember the amount but recall thinking it was excellent value for money). The wrap was the best I've ever had - very filling and I certainly didn't need the side salad. Although busy, I was served quickly and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I wish they were open on the weekends!More

Delicious treats are served in this cafe. I like the fact that their profits are used for social action.
