We arrived late in Auckland after travelling all day from paihia. We got to the restaurant not long before closing but they welcomed us in and served us a beautiful meal. It was our sons birthday and they gave him a free dessert with a musical candle! A perfect end to a great day. Lovely couple.... thanks so much.

Went here with a group which allowed us to try 3 or 4 dishes between us. A couple of curries, chicken, lamb and also the masala dosai. All of them were excellent but the masala in particular. It's a reasonable price made even more reasonable by using the entertainment book. Service is fine and the restaurant itself is a little... More

Really ordinary fare. Too many spices. Quite expensive. Not value for money.. Can get similar taste from "Ready to eat" and Frozen food. Staff was friendly though. Not recommended.

Popped in here with my son on the way to a gig on K Rd. Had heard about the legendary Dahi Puri from a number of friends. Was welcomed into the place by the two most wonderful hosts. Explained we only wanted an entree each and it was no problem. And yes it is that good! It is a homemade... More

I have eaten here often and the food is very good. The Masala Dosai is a south Indian speciality that I have only found previously in Sree Krishna South Indian speciality restaurant in London. The Rava Dosai is great too ... beautiful rancake, relishes and a side of lamb korma. The only think that lets this place down is the... More

We went to the Indian lunch special at this restaurant. The food was delicious and well cooked and the special for lunch was $12 which includes your drink. But the decor is dated and looks dirty. Everything could do with a good scrub. The chair coverings had food on them from previous diners and the restaurant is quite dark and... More

I went to Satya with a group as an end of year University dinner. The staff were a little strange but nothing too offensive. They were fine with us splitting the bill based on items which was very helpful. I ordered the Vege Korma, having had one at Uni Curry which was amazing every time. However this was a bland... More

Came here for the first time with a friend for dinner. It is a long narrow restaurant with, shall we say, quaint decor. The menu had a lot of items that I was unfamiliar with, so lots of new dishes to try. For starters we ordered a mixed platter of entrees, which was almost a meal in itself. The manager came... More

We stumbled across this restaurant when exploring Auckland, and given that other Indian restaurants we visited in New Zealand were definitely cheaper than most other food we decided to eat here. It lived up to expectation; the menu certainly was affordable. The place was popular, with most of the tables being occupied; unfortunately this occupation was mostly in the form... More

The complementary bread wasn't very nice. The meals we had were quiet bland and not as spicy as what you get in other Indian restaurants.
