Wow. I love love love Vietnamese but I haven’t had it this good. On holiday from Kapiti, this was a great find and we are so glad we popped our name on the waiting list and waited in the pub for the call when a...More

I have been here 4 times now, the food, the service has always been consistent. Their deep fried king prawn and Pork Pancakes are just divine.

This is a special place quite unlike stateside ones we’ve been to. Decorated to look like a 1930’s style building the food is simply out of this worldly. Seating was speedy for four and menu only two pages. We were encouraged to order 5 or...More

Very busy restaurant. Service was good. Ordered the squid and the lemongrass beef mains. Asked for both dishes to be served together but the squid came quite a bit ahead of the beef. Both dishes were okay but not worth the price tag.

I came across cafe Hanoi and managed to eat there 3 times. Not only are the staff friendly and experienced they also know the menu and are happy to give recommendations. The food is excellent and has something for everyone.

Visited Cafe Hanoi for dinner after hearing it being mentioned by a few folks. Honestly the food that we ordered, pork belly hotpot and some other stir fried squid with veggies was good, non greasy and well above average. But then that's what is expected....More

We went to Cafe Hanoi for dinner before a concert.. and it didn't disappoint!! There were so many yummy sounding dishes that we got our waitress to choose for us. Every single thing was tasty and fresh and delicious. They were even happy to leave...More

This was my 3rd time at Cafe Hanoi, and I had loved all my previous experiences. The food was great, and was worth it to me despite the extraordinarily high prices for the portion sizes (especially) having eaten a lot of authentic Vietnamese food before)....More

Hi Lilypad769, I am truly sorry you had such a bad experience with us on this visit. This is not how we train our staff - we ask them to embrace all guests equally, and judgement has no place amongst us. We will most definitely...More

Did u order any salt this week? Lacking in punch, bland flavours. expensive for what it is. Chef off the pass by 830 on a Saturday. Better Vietnamese in food alley for. $10. Great decor. Awesome building. Won’t be back.

Very cool spot from its non-descript entry to sitting in front of the kitchen watching amazing dishes being prepared with ultimate perfection and passion! Service was top notch! We had a large variety of dishes we shared. The chef prepped us each a spoon with...More

Café Hanoi is a modern Vietnamese restaurant housed within a heritage warehouse space in Britomart, the city’s oldest commercial district. The restaurant reflects our passion and respect for Vietnamese food and culture. Our menu offers authentic Hanoian street food that has made the city world famous, and other more modern dishes that pair traditional Northern Vietnamese cooking techniques with the best of New Zealand produce. We are very careful to choose ingredients that have been sourced with a deep respect for the environment.
