Great little restaurant in Parnell Hidden in a walkway off main street this was a real gem to find. Reasonably priced meals and drinks. Excellent service and food was delicious. Can't wait to return again in February 24

Thank you for the review Geoff
Definitely worth a visit the food is amazing. For entree we had the Elephant sausage which had a lovely kick to it. Enough pieces for two to share. For main we had the sweet and sour pork which was excellent. The meat was so tender...and the fruits in the sauce just gave it a lovely taste. We also tried duck pad Thai which was lovely. The duck gave it just a delicious touch. Both mains were enjoyed with the jasmine rice. Meals sizes were very large. Dessert we shared the banana fritter again delicious. Wine a little pricey but we shared a bottle of the Syrah from Hawke’s bay. The restaurant is nearly deserving of a 5 but service was a little slow but don’t let that out you off.More
Thank you
We stumbled across this adorable restaurant by following the blue footprints. The food was amazing! It felt like you were receiving a big warm hug…comfort food with a kick. The Tom Kha soup is outstanding…the best I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this fabulous restaurant.
Thank you Libby
Despite receiving an afternoon telephone call to validate our dinner booking we had to wait far too long for our table to become available. Apparently a group occupying our table got their date wrong but we couldn't work out why it was us that had...to stand around for far too long. As for the food only one of our group of six rated it above average. A terribly disappointing experience all round. Staff were very pleasant.More

Thank you so much for your kind review
For our last visit to The Blue Elephant my title was "Return visit essential". This visit we were very surprised that there were only two FoH staff, and, though pleasant enough seemed overworked. The entree was barely adequate for the price with one piece of...five items to share between two people, no knife to cut them in half. We then had to wait 30 minutes for our two mains which was not really acceptable as people who arrived after us were served within 10 minutes of arrival. Previously hot towels were offered to us at the end of the meal, not on this occasion. On a rainy night the walk up the cobbles to find the toilet is fraught with danger.More
Thank you for your review. Staff issues have happened to us lately and unfortunately it can be hard to control. The hot towels have not been available for 3 years as the lady that provided them closed down so we are sorry about that as...More
Great food and service , my clients really enjoyed their dining experience at the Blue Elephant, want to go back again in the near future
Thank you so much Tony
Visiting from Hamilton - whenever in Auckland I visit Blue Elephant. This time got a takeaway - wanted to eat back at hotel down the road. Discount for takeaway. This is not a cheap food place - you pay (at reasonable cost) for the quality...you get. Quality food, quality service A++ for both. Restaurant was full - obviously continues to be popular.More

As i had read that this was one of the best Thai restaurants in Auckland i was disappointed to find this wasn’t so. The service was very slow and the restaurant wasnt full. my husband and i were very disappointed with our meal. Will not...eat there again.More
Thank you for taking time out to review.
Horrible service. 15 mins waited for staff to approach despite standing at the door and the booking. Then finally got a sit and then after waiting for another 15 mins we decided to walk out.
Unfortunately on nights when we are busy, bookings are advised. Our staff would have been doing their best.
OMG the food is amazing, we have loved all the dishes we have had over the years. I'm not one for writing reviews, but have had to change due to the always friendly staff, they deserve a great review, and amazing food. My wife is...Thai. and also loves the authentic taste and quality of the food.More
Thank you so much
A restaurant nestled in a small road between shops. Net easily spotted from the road. Best park near and walk. Very friendly staff. Food was great, full of flavors. The curry puff and prawn cake were great to start with. We had the sweet chili...and tamarind sauce deep fried snapper…..awesome dish as was the chef’s special pork.More
Thank you so much
My family of 4 dined here last night to celebrate my son's birthday and were made to feel very special indeed! Very polite and attentive service in a warm and friendly environment. My 11yr old had chosen this place for his birthday dinner after we...dined here for the first time last year. At the end of the meal, they brought him a free dessert of fried banana and icecream (with spoons for us all!) and sang him happy birthday! Such super lovely staff and really tasty food. Highly recommend, we will definitely be back!More

We bought a Penang and green curry as a take away . They looked virtually the same, the vegetables were over cooked and looked very similar to those found in a bag of frozen veg. Not creamy at all . A real shame
